Fractures

After the fractures I didn't have pain they had healed. I am very unsure about my 3rd injection. I wouldn't hesitate if not so painful. It is so simple a blood test then injection every 6 months. Unfortunately not for me.

Following on from previous posts, I have suffered 4 or 5 vertebral fractures aka spinal compression or fragility fractures. I've now been fitted with a back brace which seems to help posture and also stops me bending awkwardly and risking more fractures.

Hi I suffered spinal fractures over 18 months ago but they weren't diagnosed until about 6 months ago by x-rays, I kept being told it was just muscular. The physios and doctors should have realised from the symptoms and excruciating pain.

Well 6 fractures later and an inch shorter. Found out that you should NEVER just stop Prolia injections as it can lead to compound fractures of the spine. Having IBS just compounds my problem. Each day I wonder if it's going to be a toilet free day or take a book , if you know what I mean.

Hi everyone, I have now had 15 fractures ( diagnosed) plus fractures in the ribs. These have all occurred without any kind of injury or fall. Two of these fractures have re fractured twice and one has re fractured three times.

They believed the spinal fractures were compression fractures, but I now believe they were from a car accident she had a few months before she was diagnosed (mum is 8 stone and 4’11” so quite small and hit the car quite hard.

After 9 years of dealing with this,and many fractures, I am very tired of it all. How much can a person take🫨 Sorry for the rant

Was diagnosed with osteoporosis just over 5years ago, have completed5 a year course of alendronic acid with no problems ,but my osteoporosis is apparently very severe, although I am OK apart from occasional spinal fractures.......

I have 3 spinal fractures told about them Jan 2023. I feel I may have snother fracture. Sometimes feel as if a knife is going into my back. Has anybody else had similar problems with Denisumab. Would be very interested to know.

I was eventually sent for a scan which showed I had multiple fractures on my spine I was immediately put on alendronic acid which I was on for 15 months . After the results from the bone density scan I was offered Teriparatide which I’m been on for 3 weeks . I have a long way to go

I was diagnosed with 5 disc fractures and osteoporosis beginning of last year and struggle with getting around and pain.

One of the scans showed that I had 4 fractures in my spine. A further 2 fractures were discovered later during surgery and these were also operated on. I was referred to an amazing surgeon who got me into hospital as soon as possible and performed a Procedure called Kyphoplasty.

I've recently had spinal or vertebral compression fractures and am now talking to various health care professionals and researching my options to try and prevent further fractures in the future.

Perhaps walking with fractures is not a good idea until I start the osteo meds to help heal the spine? Still waiting on approval for Romosozumab meds as it is a process here in Canada that is lengthy.

I have severe osteoporosis and suffered several spinal fractures and pelvic fracture. After waiting 18 months I finally got to see a Consultant who advised Romosozumab injections.

I have been reading some awful stories about how much pain they are in when they fracture in the thoracic spine, does everyone get like that after a fracture with not being able to get out of bed and even sniffing etc they are in agony, I have just been dx with mild to moderate wedge compression fracture

The result show wedge fractures which the doctor described as “significant”. Also showed my lungs were compromised which was why I get breathless easily.

Can the resistance training be risky in contributing to fractures ? I know resistance training helps keep the muscles and bones good. He has been prescribed Denusomab 60 mg once in 6 months. Will get him that shot next week.

I have been reading a lot about how people treat a mild to moderate wedge compression fracture of t12, how do you know if you need osteoporosis drugs, some people with fractures don't take drugs, I am due my second reclast infusion this Thursday not looking forward to it. any tips anyone.

I couldn’t cope with any more fractures. It’s already ruined my life. I find it difficult doing things now. It is concerning especially because my bones were really bad to start with. My bones were -5.5 to start with. My last Dexa said -4.6 or -4.3. Im wondering how anyone else feels about this.
