I have IBS-C & the diet thing confuses me. There is the fodmap, gaps & scd diets. What is working for you?
The doctor told me to follow the low
fodmap
diet so I am but feeling kind of worse. It notes certain nuts and seeds ok so I was eating macademia nuts, walnuts and pine nuts and boy it feels like I just am having a hard time digesting them.

What helped me...may help you
The joint pain and swelling is gone, I am having normal BM's daily, I still have to be very careful with what I eat...and am sticking to the
FODMAP
diet. But I was able to eat string cheese the other day with no negative effects.

Back with Good News
A few weeks into the
FODMAP
diet, I felt terrible. I experienced a flare-up just as bad, if not worse, than any flare-up I'd had in the past. I was pretty ready to give up. I stuck it out, though, and it was worth it.

Endo and bloating/ swelling tummy - any helpful tips?
I am only 2 weeks from my first laparoscopy and haven't properly started the endo diet yet, but was on low
fodmap
diet at the start of the year when they thought I just had IBS and that seems to cut the same sorts of things from your menu as the endo diet but my symptoms never really changed back then

Cannot do this anymore
I tried
Fodmap
diet, gluten free, lacto free, eat virtually no dairy, have not ate bran or whole wheat products for over a year, have tried every probiotic, ate gluten free oats until they came out my ears, cut out fruit virtually and veg. In the last 10 days I have lost 12IB in weight.

FODMAP diet long-term?
Has anyone else been on the
FODMAP
diet for a long time? And has anyone with IBS been referred to a gastroenterologist?

Hi, I have IBS-C and find sticking to a low
FODMAP

Where to now!
I need to stress that my episodes have not been major for the last few months due to the
Fodmap
diet, and I just might end up not taking anything – Oh he did say I needed an event monitor – why do I need this when I record all of my events? I really could do with some expert advice here.

I would advise IBS sufferers to stay away from cheese
As we all know it is important not to get too stuck on the
fodmap
diets. From the things I have read on here that a lot of people are still trying to find foods that are right for them, as am I.
