Statins & PCa Mortality.
New Danish study below. Anyone can get a statin prescription in the U.S. it seems. I asked for 40mg Simvastatin for PCa 7 years ago, although my lipid profile didn't really warrant & I didn't have any cardiovascular concerns. The situation in Denmark is perhaps different. Those prescribed a statin

Can someone help me figure out when I should be taking these meds during the day, i.e., breakfast, lunch, dinner? I'm afraid I may be mixing meds that should't be taken together. I'm taking Prednisone, Amlodipine Besylate (blood pressure), Lisinopriil (blood pressure) , Simvastatin (chlorestorol -sp

I AM ALRIGHT TODAY
There is always someone worse off than yourself but it does not make anything easier for you thinking about that. Without feeling sorry for yourself this COPD stage 4 certainly wears you right down, I guess that's what its meant to do. Been in hospital 7 times this year with infections, pleurisy & more

I am going to a special family get together and I will be offered a glass of wine. I only used to have a glass on special occasions but have never had any since last year. Should I be concerned?
I am 70 years old, female & Caucasian. I had labs done in May 2016 ( eGFR. 58). Labs again Nov 2016 (eGFR. 48). Labs again April 2017 (eGFR. 42). I'm taking Simvastatin, Meloxicam & Lisinopril. Livalo: A Safer Statin?
I had some problems with lipid-soluble Simvastatin a while ago. It took several months before my liver enzymes fell into the normal range. After reading the information regarding cholesterol and lethal prostate cancer, I sent an email to my oncologist to ask him if there weren't some other statin I could

Cholesterol in high-grade and lethal PCa.
New study below. I was never a fan of statins. My GP offered me one when my total cholesterol went above 200. It seemed absurd that more that half the U.S. population of my age was using statins, when prudent dietary changes might remove excess CVD risk without the need for a drug. But cancer is different

Newly Diagnosed ET (with CALR mutation)
Hi all, I am 53 and was diagnosed last week with ET caused by a CALR mutation and with a platelet count of 1250. I have an appointment in 2 weeks to see a consultant at the MPN clinic at my local hospital. I had a heart valve replaced 15 years ago and have been on Warfarin, Simvastatin and more recently

Colchicine and Simvastatin
Does anyone take Colchicine and Atorvastatin? I take Colcicine 500 micrograms twice daily. I have just been prescribed Atorvastatin for high Cholesterol but was warned by my pharmacist that there was a dangerous drug interaction between these two medications. My Dr says the risk is low but I've read

Aggressive PCa - Cholesterol - Statins
New German study below. I often feel, in talking about statins, that I need to explain that I am horrified by the number of Americans using them. (& no, I haven't been overdosing on Dr. Mercola.) Coming up to age 70, I am not on any prescriptions except those I have chosen to be on for PCa - & that

Magnesium Taurate again
Hi all - i've been taking this for a few years now. The first brand I started on was in a white tub with red writing and made in the States...cardiovascular something. I changed to Bio Care magnesium taurate after reading a post on here but I'm not sure of the dosage. I take two capsules as directed

For a few years now I have been suffering with pain in the front of my lower legs and feet. I was able to bare with it and it mostly came after a lot of walking.
