I AM ALRIGHT TODAY

There is always someone worse off than yourself but it does not make anything easier for you thinking about that. Without feeling sorry for yourself this COPD stage 4 certainly wears you right down, I guess that's what its meant to do. Been in hospital 7 times this year with infections, pleurisy & more infections. Just got out 1/8/17 after iv antibiotics and already got a sore throat @ feeling weak. the old prednisolone 30mg Steroids, nebs 6 times a day, Fostair, Spiriva respimat, citalopram 40 mg , simvastatin, omeprazole, levofloxacin, carbocistiene 45ml liquid, sleep apnoea and there's more just cant be bothered to list them. I met this guy in hospital and he was given 3 weeks to live 2 months ago, he has septicaemia & paralyzed from the waist down but the determination the man has to live, with a 9 year old boy to bring up, made me realize that I really have nothing to complain about. FACT!! ps. Looking out at trees & sweet birds are singing. Feeling okay.

Very true, someone is always worse off. I believe that is one of the things that keeps us going.

If they can do it so can I, and suddenly you are in a good place.

Everybody with a chronic illness has something to complain about , JS. Lots to complain about and if we started we'd never finish, so don't beat yourself up about feeling sorry for yourself. It is very true that there is always someone worse off then ourselves but that's really no consolation for what we're going through on a daily basis. It's sensible to have a positive mental attitude and make the best of our situation. This is what most of us do most of the time but everybody's allowed a moan when necessary. After all, we're only human :)

So true, there is always someone with more problems than yourself, but its not easy to smile when your feeling ill and things are going wrong, come to think of it it is not natural either. Enjoy your weekend .
