Low iron and connection to ACE inhibitors cough
I had repeat bloods recently and the only issue was slightly low iron resulting in low hemoglobin levels. This can be a result of my meds although I think my mainly plant based diet also contributes. So before I rush o supplements I will be seeing which foods I can increase to increase my iron intake

I have primary Raynauds, with several attacks daily. Ramipril
Hi everyone. Just joined the group and need some advice. Started on Ramipril 3 weeks ago for kidney problems and have developed the 'cough' choking and wretching probably 10 times a day. Are the alternative medicatipns also ok for kidney problems or are they more heart related? I see Doc in a couple

To take Ramipril - or not - that is the question?
Hi All, I'm fairly new but must say that I'm impressed with this forum. It seems like almost everyone on here is constructive and supportive and it's a brilliant place to visit when your health issues get you a little down. Last July (at age 55) I went in for an angiogram after having some strange

What a month infections galore!
Offt! I took nova virus on Boxing day on the back of that I picked up a viral infection, two weeks later it had turned into a bacterial chest infection so antibiotics and stopped methotrexate and hydroxy but it left fluid on my lungs! GP prescribed fluid tablets so I struggled on with them for two weeks

Little update from Rienij.
Good morning friends, just an update from me. I am being very well looked after. Having carers 4x a day. Physiotherapy every day. Doctor payed a visit on her insistence. Because I kept struggling for breath. Got fluid on the lungs, due to the hospital messing about with my meds. And heart failure

Atrial Fibrillation and Cardioversion
Hi there, I’m new here. I’m 53 and my Dad had AF for 15 years before he died last year aged 74 of a bleed in the brain. I was diagnosed in September last year with AF and of course was devastated given my dad had just died. I’m taking Apixaban, Bisoprolol and Ramipril. Last Thursday I had a cardioversion

Ct scan
Hi it's been a while since I last posted , it was found back in October 2017 that I had a left side heart block , I've seen my cardiologist who wasn't worried at all as I show no symptoms other than boarder line blood pressure for which I'm on 1.25 ramipril. I have now had a letter for a Ct scan which

Worried
For about a year now I've been having a few problems. Namely if I walk for a bit, like to the shops or walk fast my heart rate would go up to 165 and usually it is 70. I'd get hot and bothered. My blood pressure was 150 over 90 so they gave me ramipril. Now much better. Then I had a few times I'd get

The effect of cortisone on height
Hello everyone, my question this time is related to the consequences on the development in height and in the physical structure of young children which had to take cortisone before puberty. As you will remember my son has Mpa that hit the kidneys in 2017 when he was 11 years old. Today he is 13 years

The room going round and round
It's a long time since I posted anything, sorry about that. I have had AF for goodness how long. After 3 failed cardioversions I have been on Dioxin, Dabigatran and Ramipril. dropping Bisoporol has made a difference and I can now walk about a mile before breathlessness starts. Basically I can function

Hi, i have just found this site and it looks like a great place for help & information! I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid about 5 years ago. I was put on 100mcg of Levothyroxine and am still on the same dose now. Since being diagnosed, i have been treated for high cholesterol (Atorvastatin)

Thank you to everyone.
Hi all. I want to thank all those of you who replied to my post a couple of months ago after I was diagnosed with AF. Apart from the usual AF symptoms, I was suffering from frequent & severe 'bursting' sensations in the head which no one (not even the doctors) could identify. I changed the Bisoprolol
