Ramipril

Hi everyone. Just joined the group and need some advice. Started on Ramipril 3 weeks ago for kidney problems and have developed the 'cough' choking and wretching probably 10 times a day. Are the alternative medicatipns also ok for kidney problems or are they more heart related? I see Doc in a couple of weeks for blood test/pressure so will ask then.

Hello - There are alternatives to Ramipril if you are having major problems with a cough. Losartan is one of the alternatives that is also used to treat and protect kidneys particularly in those who have type2 diabetes. Discuss with your GP.
