I recently had a ct scan.

I'm not seeing cardio until April.

But my GP rang an twice thsi week to Make sure I am seeing them.

On the second call I was able to get a little info.

Calcium number was 10

..which I believe is really good

But i have one blocked artery.

They wouldn't say more.

Now wondering if my score was 10...why is a artery blocked?

Surely I'm okay or they would have called me in?

Could be just worrying over nothing.

Symptom for last year -very fast heart rate up to 200 over walking and crushing chest pain. Usually 70 pulse.

Have spray.

Ramipril 5mg for blood pressure.

Sorry all very new to this.

Hello I find it always raises anxiety level when GP calls and maybe doesn't fully explain the purpose of the call. It sounds like GP only wanted to make sure you had an appointment arranged if the scan letter failed to mention it. Now that it's known you have an artery blockage your GP could prescribed a beta blocker maybe a GTN spray as another level of protection until you see the Cardiologist. A beta blocker slows and strengthens heart rate. You could arrange an appointment with GP to discuss. Also if you get sudden chest / feeling short of breath you should call 999 or visit A&E. You will get sorted try not to worry.

I really think they would have called you in if you were at major risk. I have felt the same as you in similar situations and worried myself sick. Some of us are worriers. Try and distract yourself but don't ignore any out of the ordinary symptoms.

Hi. Try not to worry too much about your blocked artery, my husband has lived with a blocked artery for 21 years. If the GP/cardiologist were concerned about your scan you would be called in sooner
