Hypertension/Postural Hypotension
Has anyone any experience of dealing with hypertension/postural hypotension please? I seem to be going around in circles. I was on Bisoprolol 1.25mg for tachycardia for several years, then hypertension started and we added in Amlodipine 5mg. All was fairly well until 18 months ago, BP going higher

I would really appreciate some help ,advice ,please!
I posted a couple of months ago asking for advice on alternative to Bisoprolol. After reading reviews I thought I would like to try Nebivolol. My GP wouldn’t prescribe Nebivolol ,only carvedilol, as I had an appointment with a cardiologist in 8 days I thought would ask the doctor then. During the

Change of meds
I have been taking isosorbide mononitrate for coronary artery spasm but recently changed to amlodipine following the cardiologists discharge notes. Obviously I need to give the new meds time to work after 10 days of taking them. The symptoms still come and go and can feel my heart sensations more. Anxiety

cardio version
I have just had a cardio angiogram, fortunately all arteries etc were fine but I was surprised to be told I would need a cardio version as I am in persistent AF I had no idea! My heart rate was hovering around 100 and just over. The consultant told me to double my bisoprol to 5mg twice daily in the

Hello, I developed Tinnitus last November after a cocktail of Atorvastatin, Amlodipine and Felodipine. Symptoms slowly worsening during the course of this year. My surgery insisted Atorvastatin was not part responsible and advised it could help with tinnitus symptoms. In desperation I restarted

How low can you go ? Blood pressure GP policy and general guidance
Hi I have had high blood pressure for over 20 years. At some point in my late 20s (I am now 51), a GP decided I met the criteria for high blood pressure and prescribed medication. For most of the next 20 years I had an annual or semi annual check at the surgery and a blood test every year. They would

Alternatives to Amlodipine
Hello I am 51 years old male, and for many years my blood pressure had been controlled by 100mg of Losartan (ACE Inhibitor) but my GP changed my meds this year adding Amlodipine (calcium channel blocker), firstly 5mg and now 10mg. My blood pressure now averages around 117/75. Before (just on Losartan

Losartan and increased heart rate
I’ve been taking ramipril for about a month and just changed to Losartan 25 as felt the ramipril was making me anxious. I’ve noticed my resting heart rate has increased slightly from about 67 to 72 average. Is this a thing? Obviously as an anxious person I’ve focussed in on it!!!

International Day of Qigong
Yesterday I attended an online day long conference about qigong and taiji. It was awesome and really encouraged me to develop a light but consistent qigong practice specifically for my apparently new heart condition. Today I am beginning my heart rehab exercise program, which, for now, will include walking

A Good Day's Night
AFib status: Permanent for at least the past two years. 75 years old. Medication: Apixaban, 5mg Bisoprolol, Amlodipine, 5mg Ramipril, Atorvastatin. No offers by my doctor of a cardioversion or an ablation. I have been fairly stable on those meds since it was confirmed that I had Permanent Afib.

Starting Med Today
Took my first 2.5 mg of ramipril today. Does anyone have any experience to share with me. I've never taken any meds before other than the occasional antibiotic and prednisone for acute conditions. The list of side effects on the Mayo Clinic website are horrifying.

I discovered Metoprolol may cause arthralgia- myalgia
https://www.the-rheumatologist.org/article/case-report-metoprolol-induced-arthralgia/ I decided to not take that beta-blocker anymore. I still will take Amlodipine and Lisinopril and may ask to go on carvedilol again and still have a bunch of carvedilol pills I can take. It was after I was switched
