losartan and amlodipine

my BP has been steadily getting higher and was on Losartan 100mgs and Amlodipine 5mg in morning . GP. Yesterday increased amlodipine to 10 mg but now have to take losartan at night. Does anyone split their BP medications like this .

regardless of whether we have this regime or not, Caradomben, your doctor must have a reason for this and it’s individual to you.

Yep, I do. I take a diuretic...indapamide...in the morning and ramipril and lercanidipine at night. The gp advised me to take the 2 at night riatger than in the morning as they are more effective when taken then, before bed, as you are resting .

I take Ramipril at night and Amlodipine in the morning, it works well for me as my blood pressure is well controlled throughout the day.

Often splitting BP medication is to reduce risk of light-headedness.

There are studies that actually recommend taken BP meds at night. I do so to avoid the side effects I feel taking it in the morning,

Yes. I take 2.5 mg Amodlopine in the AM and 2.5 mg of Amlodopine plus 25 mg of Losartan in the evening. My doctor has said that taking BM meds at night may be more beneficial.
