ramipril - anxiety

Has anyone noticed any anxiety of other mental health side effects when starting or increasing ramipril (and if so when did it start ?)

had that happen when put on Amidopline when I went from 5mg to 10 mg. my anxiety was through the roof

i got anxiety off them all, was not worth it for me to keep taking bp pills for one problem for them to causes more problems, the doc will give you other pills for that and before you no it you on 5 or 6 pills,

Hi, Yes i'm a month in and wondering similar. I can't work out if it's just a reaction to a few weird symptoms (fatigue, cold fingers and tingling) or whether it is making me feel more jittery

Hi, I'm on 2.5mg. I think it's very hard to tell what is going on as there is general anxiety around taking the tablet, having high bp and also anticipating taking readings. I think i tend to focus in on any symptoms I have, google them and then get in a mess that they will never get better.

This horrible drug was the first one my doctor put me on. I was on the lowest dose and found that within days I started to get really anxious. I can remember walking into the gym and nigh on descending into a panic attack. It was awful. It also affected my breathing to such an extent that I could not work out. I stopped taking it immediately and went back to the doctors to have the meds changed. This set me on a path of basically trying many BP drugs that did not work. You know the usual doctor line they feed you. I have just come of candesartan which initially did nothing. On increase I had an allergic reaction with my face swelling up like I'd used a bad hair dye. I'M Bald by the way. ha ha! I am now trying bisapropol which I have not taken yet. I am having a ECG on 5th May so I want a true reading. Go and see your Doc and don't let them tell you to continue with the Anxietlodapine or try to give you anything for anxiety. Big Pharma call this upselling. One drug gives a 'side effect' then they give you another for that 'side effect' and so on.

yes definitely more emotional after starting Ramipril maybe slightly more anxious as well. Oh
