Hi all. I have had concussion since August, after a fall when I banged my head. Although improving, I have a problem with bright light/glare
As above - I had a fall in August and banged my neck, chin. I am improving but can't deal with light (as in a bright sky), or glare. I also have difficulty when there is a lot of noise (as in grandchildren!). I can't wear earphones.... Does anyone know of research into coloured lenses and how certain

suspected epidural tumour
Hi all! Hope you are all doing well. My dad just got his scans back, and to go along with his rising PSA (over 260 now), the said they suspect he has an epidural tumour. Our MO typically glazes past his scan results as she doesn’t seem them significant, I want to make sure I am right to be worried here

Cataract surgery advice please.
I've got glaucoma and I'm very short sighted. The left eye has got the glaucoma. The right eye isn't affected much with it yet, but does have the cataract. After they fit the new lens in my right eye, my shortsightedness apparently might be rectified. This will give me an enormous discrepancy between

Medicines and dementia risk
Hello. I'm 64 years old with a painful back problem (lumbar spinal stenosis, spondylosis and spondylolisthesis). While I wait for an appointment at the Pain Clinic, I was recommended by the musculoskeletal specialist to try a drug called gabapentin. My doctor put me on another from this group of drugs

I’ve been trying to get stable on t3/4 combination, still a way to go as last results after increasing to 10 mcg liothyronine in 2 doses were the worst yet, t3 and t4 both at bottom of range, vitamin D draining away again despite supplements. I’ve increased levothyroxine back up to 75 ( I was advised

Starbursts from new glasses driving me insane. Can anyone help?
Hi, I recently got 2 new pairs of glasses, one with Transitions lenses and one 'plain'. There's been a lot of faff with the Transitions because I didn't like the frames, but right at the outset I noticed I was suddenly getting these epic starbursts on lights (with both pairs), particularly in the distance

is this a sign my meds are struggling or just how it is now?
Sorry for the long message but would appreciate knowing if this is typical or if I am being a little dramatic and unrealistic. diagnosed with RA nearly 2 years ago. Took a while but pretty much back to normal after moving to injecting 20mg MTX, 200g hydroxy and folic acid 6 days a week. Took just over

update: Zanabrutinib vs Obenven (O&V)
We are praying for Gods wisdom (James1:5), and we’re leaning toward the Zanabrutinib. The infusions and time and distance will be impactful to my husbands work and he’s prefer to go the simpler route. We learned he’s still 13Q and TP53 negative and his lymph nodes are reduced (we have used ALT for

is everyone else not getting diagnosed or much treatment?
I’ve had severe period pain for years, when I wasn’t taking painkiller in time I would be sick and feel faint. I have tried paracetamol and ibuprofen in the pad which did nothing. I took naproxen 500mg which used to completely block my pain but now only stops it being severe. More recently I’ve been

Surgery and immuno suppressants
Hi everyone. I am due to have minor surgery on my wrist and have been asked by my surgeon to cease taking mycophenolate for a week before and a week after my operation (I presumed because of possible risk of infection?). I spoke to my rheumatologist about this and she considered it unnecessary to stop

New to Peginterferon - Any suggestions to help with bowel cramps?
I have only had 2 injections so far and experiencing frequent bowel cramps. I was kinda, expecting this as I do have some bouts of IBS following associated problems from stage 4 endometriosis. This was found and treated 10 years ago, after many years of suffering. As a result, I experience IBS and,

Lipoid pneumonia
Earlier this year I had serious nose bleeds resulting in hospital admissions and cautery. Subsequently seen by ENT consultant who advised daily insertion of Vaseline into nostrils to prevent them drying out and possible further bleeds. Since then I found on the internet (various reputable sites)

Leg Pain pt 3
Writing again because one of you lovely people suggested I saw my MRI results for myself. She was right, my doctor said it was wear and tear in the back. Keep taking the painkillers and walk. But I did see the results and it is Grade 1 degenerative spondylolisthesis. He did not suggest physio. But
