The Graduate Lounge
A beautiful oak door is opened by an usher wearing a suit. He beckons me inside with his white gloved hands. “Welcome to the Graduate Lounge, Flossie” he says, smiling. “Thank you.” I reply, smiling back. A sudden intake of breath . . . to my left, is a bank of running shoes of all sorts of shapes, sizes

Neutropenia again
My husband had a bad pneumonia and admitted to the hospital. He has been having neutropenia and low WBC at 1.7 for several months. The heme-onc physician was scheduled to see him in November but because of the bad fever and tremors, we went to the ER. They admitted him and loaded him with antibiotics

So nice to have found this community. I'm two years in to diagnosis and have had BR treatment. Right now, I'm doing well except for persistent Neutropenia (coming up to one year post treatment next month). My doc is a CLL expert in the US but works in a smaller community (Jeff Sharman). Have had

NHS nut allergy- self diagnosis?
As a baby my daughter had a diary allergy that gave her severe eczema. She grew out of this but at the time they also did skin prick and RAST tests that proved positive for various nut allergies. She's avoided all nuts for the last 5 years and her only symptom was her lip once massively reacting to

Hi Nightdancer. I hope you are still on this site. I have a sensation of internal vibrations. It started with simply a couple of nerves "jumping" in my feet. About 6 months ago the internal vibration feeling started in my left foot, then moved to my right foot and then one night the vibrations rapidly

Lupus and allergies
I was diagnosed with Discoid Lupus in Guatemala in 1997. I stop smoking, taking sun baths and tried to relax. I moved to England in 2009 and (thanks to) less sun, I am in remission since 2012. But since then I have been experiencing what it seems like very bad allergies, witch lead to closing my airways

The wind has changed and now my face will stay like this.
Yesterday I ventured out to my local town full of urgent intentions. Due to funny warm weather and rather unseasonable urgent buzzing noises in the garden, I was reminded that I was supposed to have had an appointment with the GP last year regarding the use of an Epipen. Since my last violent ten day

Hypothyroid Queen's drama and fuss, progress with autoimmune and LDN adventures!
This morning I awoke and screeched with laughter - my husband was standing looking puzzled at the bottom of my bed, announcing how very tight his trousers were feeling, and asking my opinion on his appearance. He had of course put on my skinny black jeans convinced they were his. I don't know if it

SEVERE CHRONIC NEUTROPENIA AND R.A. versus MIRENA COIL!
Not posted in a while but back at work after being off for 6 months with the above blood disorder and getting Neutropenic Sepsis. Neutrophils as low as 0.2 in recent months. Had neupogen injections but they made me so ill, even gave me multiple ulcers in both eyes, although the haematologist said that
