Potential Prograf Shortage?
There is an article in the Business & Money section of today's Sunday telegraph about pharmacies having trouble in supplying some key medicines. The article comments specifically on Epipen, but also "specific treatments for a host of serious conditions". This concerns me as having had a liver transplant

Anyone who has done carboplatin after all other treatments, including early Taxotere?
My husband is wrestling with a looming recommendation of a second course of chemo with carboplatin. He did Taxotere early on (CHAARTED protocol). Did great on Xtandi for 2 years, now trying Zytiga (although we've been told it might not work, or work for long). He's resisting the idea of chemo because

Help with drug choice please - rituximab or methotrexate?
Hi, I’ve been told to think about next treatment which my (lovely!) rheumy says I need to start now. I think his preference is rituximab (but he’s very clever and has learnt with me that I need to feel it’s my choice!) but has also said methotrexate. I have ‘failed’ on MMF and azathoprine. Had a big

Chemo question
DX with stage 2a grade 3 serous OC in June. Started chemo of taxol/carbo on June 26. Had allergy to taxol so they needed to change it. Today was my next one where instead of every 3 weeks for 6 total of taxpayers/carbo they switched it to lower doses of Abraxane/carbo every week. My questions: has anyone

Anaphylaxis to local anaesthetic
I have had two anaphylaxis reactions to local anaesthetic. Once to an injection & once to patch test. Very swift, very severe, no skin reaction to patch test. Bit scary, in truth. Two questions: Would an epipen be advisable? I was advised that the effect is cumulative - and may have effect on my immune

GP tomorrow and very confused
Hi everyone, hoping that someone has advice for me. I have a GP appointment tomorrow (he asked to see me) to discuss the kenalog injections I started a few months ago then stopped after an appointment with his colleague when he was on holiday. Boring background is (according to consultant) severe persistent

Neupogen
I am having trouble with a low white blood cell count- missing 3 treatments. My doctor is reluctant to give me shots of neupogen because of the side effects- extreme muscle ache. I would like to ask those who have taken these shots what side effects, and how severe have they been? Thank you.

Epipen
Hi, can anyone help with my really silly fear of using my epipen. I have had pens for a long time and have a very big fear of using them, of what will happen if/when I use them. I have multiple allergies and severe asthma and some of my triggers are unknown. When my asthma allergy thing really takes

EpiPen Recall
You've no doubt heard about the EpiPen and EpiPen Jr. recall announced last week. Here's a simple 4-step process to get a new EpiPen if it's included in the recall: 1) Check the lot number on your carton or device to confirm if your EpiPen is affected by the recall. (Recalled lot numbers can be found

Any replacement for banana??
So the last week I have been eating bananas on a daily basis. Last night I had a banana smoothie and noticed afterwards that my eyes were so runny and heavy. Didn't think much of it just thought I was tired. Hubby said the same about his eyes and he had the smoothie too. Today I did the couch 2 5km week

Expired Medicines - What to Check Before Throwing Them Away?
When it comes to health, there is no taking a chance. Most of us are in the habit of storing some medicines at home, which could come in handy, say for a headache or an acidity attack. Histamine Intolerance
After years of suffering more and more allergies I discovered I had Histamine intolerance (evidenced by 67 scratch tests). I now follow a low histamine diet (not easy) and somewhat boring. I eat nuts again and all the things on my previous banned list. I carry anti histamine tablets and an epipen for
