Abdominal pain and no answers
Finally, they discovered that I had a partially blocked bowel (partly caused by different painkillers) and was given an
enema
to clear it out I was then referred to a gastroenterologist in this time. As a&e Drs believed I needed an endoscopy.

Severe vomiting and abdominal cramps - I thought I'd experienced pain with the ascites but this was something else. 4 bags of fluid, anti sickness, pain killers , chest and abdominal X-ray and an
enema
later and I'm waiting to see what the verdict is!!!

Finally going home!
3 and a half weeks later, 5 enemas, a nasal/gastric tube, being fed through a drip for 2 weeks, finally having bowel surgery and I am now about an hour away from going home. Just waiting for them to take the staples out and then I am out of here - I can't wait. Even when I had my major debulking surgery

Keeping a positive attitude?
by IGotSunshine A disease like breast cancer, if your treatment causes visible side effects like hair loss, can set you up for a lot of well-meaning remarks. It reminded me of being a new mother. Everyone, it seemed, had the inside track. I heard them all—from “My sister’s friend cured her breast cancer

Still in hospital 🙁
Still here, still vomiting, still having enemas to try and help. Waiting for a ct scan to see if there is a bowel obstruction. If there is it's likely to be high up. Talk of surgery now - feeling fed up and nervous and in need of words of wisdom from others who may have had this 😬

Sigmoidoscopy Survived
When I got to the place I suddenly realised that bowel prep (
enema
) also meant interference in the trauma location for me and panicked. What an idiot for not realising sooner!

Friday night special!!!
The DN arrived, to give him his
enema
, obviously that didn't happen, but she took his temperature and said she would go back and report this to the doctor. An assistant/paramedic came out. All his obs were fine except his temperature. Still no sign of his waking.

And the Oscar goes to..........
Surely it's cheaper for a DN to pop in every few days and give an
enema
, blocking him up the rest of the time, rather than shoving gallons of laxitives down him, that don't work half the time and having him in a home full time? Or am I being naive?

FCR and nausea
Hello fellow CLLERS, I have just finished round 2 of FCR. First round I had horrendous nausea so bad I couldn't sleep for days. This round they gave me Emend but the unfortunate side effect was severe constipation. I ended up extremely distressed and having to have two enemas and I was still nauseous

Peristeen???
Hi, has anyone heard of this or used one? It is a rectal catether, pipe going up inside, water is pumped in and washes out the bowel. S's bowel nurse, has said this is the next thing to try, if regular enemas don't work. Apparently, you can do it yourself. It helps in keeping you regular, without any
