Feeling like recovery will never end
They had to give me laxatives and an
enema
to clear me out and to get it working again. Worst experience ever. So I’ve been home 4 days and I am still very bloated causing pain under my rib cage, I can hardly sleep cause each position is so uncomfortable and I can’t seem to find any relief.

Succumbing to depression....
It's been 13 months since my diagnosis, I've gotten through a diagnostic lap, a sigmoidoscopy, a Mirena, a disastrous zoladex trial, a vomit laden picolax bowel prep, my excision and bowel shave, a week in hospital with viral meningitis, 3 agonising lumbar punctures a horrendous
enema
, and the post

Slow motility - same as constipation?
I did an
enema
and drank some apple juice and that helped but now I'm having frequent (every 1-2 hours) soft bowel movements and I can't seem to empty !! Is this the same as constipation and do I need to do more remedies to get regular?

Am I still in a flare? - advice if you've had experience please
Hi there, I was diagnosed with UC in May and tried Asacol enemas, Colifoam enemas and Pentasa to get it under control but nothing worked until I was given 8 weeks of Prednisolone. I went back to my Consultant for follow-up when I finished the Pred. and we had a chat. He's not convinced my flare is over

Help I'm constipated!!
I tried an
enema
last night and it kinda worked but not really. Maybe do two enemas?! I eat lots of fruits and veggies , drink 128oz water per day, etc. This is yet another side effect of Pristiq on top of insomnia and blurred vision.

Please can anyone help my 14 year old daughter been suffering since 2014!!!
Nothing works she was eventually given an
enema
in April which cleared her as she must of had a blockage. But again for 3 months she's got chronic constipation and chronic pain on her left side which also travels to the middle of stomach.

Alternative treatments
i was diagnosed with ovarian cancer April 3, 2017. I had a total hysterectomy and chemotherapy with carboplatin and Taxol. I had my last treatment August 9. Has anyone done any alternative treatments with the result of being cancer free/in remission? Possibilities: ketogenic diet, exercise with oxygen

Should I see a private GI specialist? What are your experiences? (UK)
This is my first post on a forum so sorry that it's long!... I noticed symptoms around 2 years ago, they worsened around half a year ago and have got progressively worse over the months until now. I suffer with constipation (I go several times a day but only a small amount at a time), I never feel empty

on the 19th, check for leakage from op site and if all is well the colorectal team will then look at a date for stoma reversal. Just hope HB levels are kind to him as well. Will keep you posted as and when all visits are complete. Take care Susiecarer

Brain Fog - Swallowing - Low Ferritin - Croaking
The SIBO summit is being replayed today and tomorrow and I've gone over Dr. Kharrazian's talk on the brain connection. We know that Hashimoto's affects smooth muscle and I think Dr. K has explained the reason how and it begins with the vagus nerve in the brain stem. Your bowels are composed of smooth

Taking a week's dose of Vitamins in one go?
A while ago when I went to see a Naturopath I told her all the vits I was taken (B12, B-complex, D3, K2MK4, Mag, Selenium, Zinc, Ferrous Fumerate + Vit C) and the difficulties in timing. She suggested taking some of these vitamins all in one go i.e. a week's supply of D3. Could you do this? If you did

Sigmoidoscopy
I am due to have a sigmoidoscopy next week, I have been sent the
enema
to use at home before I leave for the hospital, can someone tell me if I am likely to need the toilet on the way. My IBS is worsened by stress so I'm thinking my bowels are not going to behave just because I have had a

A somewhat overdue update.
I also got to have a test called a Gastrograffin
Enema
. I can't recommend it, it's every bit as pleasant as it sounds, but the surgeon who did my ileostomy ordered it to ensure my bowels are healed and will tolerate eventually reversing the ostomy.
