It was going so well!

So 4 rounds out of 6 chemos which we're going well when suddenly I find myself in A and E since 4.30 this morning. Severe vomiting and abdominal cramps - I thought I'd experienced pain with the ascites but this was something else. 4 bags of fluid, anti sickness, pain killers , chest and abdominal X-ray and an enema later and I'm waiting to see what the verdict is!!!

Hi Becky, sounds like you have been through the mill today. At least you are in the right place and they can get you 'sorted' . I do hope you feel better soon. Kathy xx

So sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time at the moment. Hopefully you will be sorted and feeling better very soon. Xx

I hope this is just a glitch and you are in the right place to be sorted, it may be a bug and we are prone to these while on treatment, A pity it has happened but hope you will be back on track in the next few days

Hi Becky,

Had ascites, know where you are coming from, also had severe vomiting. When I was admitted,I was drained over a 2 week period, given 2 blood transfusions and put on Omaprezole, all of which worked before my op,then chemo.

Only telling you as a basis for you to come back from,it was all doom and gloom, but I am 2 years NED and you have all to fight for,

Best wishes,

Carole xxx

Thank you for your replies everyone. Still in hospital - it seems I am severely constipated which coupled with chemo irritating my stomach lining etc is causing this. No infection or bowel obstruction which is good - just lots of enemas which are beautiful!! Hopefully thing will start to shift today. Just want a cup of tea as I'm only allowed IV fluids and water right now. My husband has taken great delight in being able to say he knew I was full of s***!!!! Hope all of you are well and enjoying the weekend x
