Life is becoming almost impossible to bear.....
It's been a while since I managed to post anything. I've been as sick as a dog for as long as I can remember. My health seems to have taken a nose dive. Since my bowel resection, ileostomy and reversal, my bowels have refused to work. I rely on laxatives and painful enemas every few days to go to the

rare complication bowel
I was belatedly diagnosed with pseudo bowel obstruction a rare complication of Lupus. It was just by chance when I was in the HDU after my 15th laparotomy for bowel obstruction that an intelligent doctor suggested I see a Professor who specialised in SLE who was engaged in research into SLE and bowel

brief rundown of my medical history - no problems until 4 years ago started having urgent morning diahorrea (ok for rest of day) and nausea... various tests (barium

I have an answer to my problems - partially blocked bowel by a hernia.
After another ct scan, which was clear I then had a barium
enema
x ray and that was also clear. The bowel consultant said I have a insisional hernia which is partially blocking the bowel. This is causing the pain in my neck and shoulder from the phrenic nerve in the diaphragm.

Serious concerns about my surgeon and my op is on Tuesday!!
They've also sprung the news that I'm having an
enema
first!!! My lap last year went that wrong I had to have 6 months of work with infection. He's not inspiring much confidence in me for this year if he can't even book me for just one op!!

After lap agony and complications feel worse off than before surgery!
It has been about 10 days since emptying my bowel and they have just suggested
enema
? I haven't been eating for last 3 days I think is because I am really badly nauseated. Last two days I have got up and walked to the toilet when I need to go as the only movement I have done.

1st lap and no advice given...
I haven't got any information about what to do leading up to the admission day (ie when to eat before etc) he mentioned something in my appointment about an
enema
the night before but there is no mention of that in the info.

Severe constipation and bowel problems, can this be thyroid related ? Recommended pain relief !
I was diagnosed with IBS several years ago before I knew anything about my thyroid problems (Hypo and Hashi's), for the past two months though the constipation has been horrific, I have had severe itching, pain and bleeding when going to the toilet, even though I take the maximum amount of lactulose

any natural remedies for nausea????
I have been diagnosed with a functional bowel disorder following numerous tests which all showed up clear - sigmoidoscopy, endoscopy, barium
enema
. My main symptom is nausea especially in the morning which often results in dry heaving.

These are some of the chemicals in a cigarette !!
It can be chewed, brewed, smoked, or, as some South American shamans prefer, enjoyed as an
enema
. Paper Tobacco firms are very secretive about their products' myriad ingredients, but we do know that about 10 percent of any given smoke is simply cellulose and a thin strip of adhesive.

I have had blood tests, barium

and ultrasound over last two years and everything appears to be normal. My GP would like to refer me if symptoms don't improve. I believe there is a faeces test to establish IBS, is this reliable?

Please help me....Constant stomach pain, functional bowel disease and acute constipation
Hi, I've not been diagnosed with the above for over a year now, I was on a high amount of Tramadol, as it is the least constipating and effective pain relief, as the doctors found I was morphine intolerant, no matter how much I was given it did not kill the pain. I have also been on Buscopan and Domperidone

Is this really IBS??? so many of my symptoms arent really typical of IBS but 3 gastroentrologists all agree it is a functional bowel problem
following normal bloods, hormone levels etc with my GP i was referred to gastroentrologist who performed barium
enema
and diagnosed IBS. having tried a few natural remedies (peppermint tea/capsules, plus few things recommended by Jan De Vries) still no improvement.
