Gastroscopy & Colonoscopy Tips
Hi, I am being sent for a gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedure on the same day, one after the other, and wondered if anyone had any tips? I have tested positive for internal bleeding (positive faecal immunochemical test) so have been told I need to have this done in the next two weeks to rule out anything

Does anyone suffer stomach related heart pain?
Since my HA almost 3 years ago I have had heart twinges of varying magnitude, which all seem related to my stomach and of late they have been getting worse. I went along for check yesterday and the cardio says gastrology wasnt her field of expertise. There is a thing called Gastrocardiac Syndrome and

Nausea and irritable bowel syndrome with pudendal neuralgia
Does anybody else suffer with nausea and irritable bowel syndrome with pudendal neuralgia? I’ve seen a gastroenterologist and he’s done all sorts of tests - endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasound. But nothing to find what’s causing it. I’ve been on FODMAP diet for months now and whilst it seemed to help

Preparing for a Colonoscopy when suffering with Cirrhosis. On going bowel issues. Future plans.
My Cirrhosis was discovered as I was having stomach pains and irregular bowel movements, often with a degree of urgency. This was last August. I have had Bloods, Fibroscan and Ultrasound and from this, diagnosed. To date I haven't seen a NHS Consultant, although I have been referred. I did pay for a

Barium Swallow Experience ?
Hello, I am due to have a barium swallow next week and getting a bit anxious about it. I have had endoscopies in the past, due to Celiac disease and Gastritis, but the last one made me feel really unwell, which is why my Doctor has recommended the Barium swallow. I have read up on some peoples experiences

Help!
Hellooo! For almost ten years I have experienced upper right quadrant stomach pain and heart burn but after investigations the Dr always put it down to a fatty liver. This all started when I was pregnant with my first child when I was 18 where I did suffer from severe constipation also, my second pregnancy

Hi everyone 👋🏻 New here and just seeking advice for speaking to my GP next week. I have had a cough for three months now. Chest X-ray 3 weeks ago was clear. I already have bronchiectasis in the bottom of one lung and top and bottom of the other. It’s mild. I’ve already made adjustments such as

is portal hypertension always progressive or is it reversible.
I have ALD and cirrhosis and been diagnosed with portal hyprrtension and 2 grade 1 varices (last endoscopy about 6 months ago). Will this inevitably progress until I start to have bleeds or is there a way to halt it or reverse it. I know there is a procedure called a shunt but when would they have to

Liver Multiscan
I was very disheartened by my recent visit to the Gastro unit. It's been 12 years since I was diagnosed with Cryptogenic Liver Cirrhosis, I've been on Azathioprine for 11 of those with routine Ultrasound Scans and Endoscopies. Good news is the Endoscopies have now stopped as I have been on Nadalol beta

High 80mg daily PPI dose
A few years ago I had acid reflux and was put on 1 20mg PPI tablet a day, It was an ongoing prescription but eventually I weaned myself off it and was ok for a couple of years. About 4 years ago I had an endoscopy related to something else. It came back ok, just with some gastritis. About two years

The Dr rang as promised he said that the endoscopy Ultrasound was done as they thought he had blood cancer which as come back as negative which is good news😃 but they are still not clear what is causing the cirrhosis, his pancreas and gallbladder are both inflamed so he’s going to do some blood test

Going into rehab
I fell off the wagon just before Christmas, no excuses, just major family stress reasons which I didn't cope with. Had an endoscopy yesterday to reassure myself I wouldn't have a bleed in there. I am absolutely terrified of detoxing on my own, away from husband etc. They use benzos and anti-emetics to
