Finger on the pulse
Hello, I’m new to the concept of a LCHF diet. My husband is not a great lover of meat so we tend to eat a lot of fish and veggies. How do pulses fit into the program? We have been eating kidney beans, chickpeas, lentils and haricot beans etc but I’m wondering whether we should? I would appreciate any

Recently Diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis
Hi All, Unfortunately my father is diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis 3 weeks back. He is diabetic since last 17 years. He never really had alcohol. Recently during our small family vacation, his legs had swelling - which often appeared during travelling due to legs hanging but disappeared after a night

LCHF saves the planet
Following on from the posts by Mike and S11m, here's my take on the ecological value of LCHF. While my title might be hyperbole, a low-carb, high-fat diet could dramatically improve end-to-end farming efficiency and make the world a slightly nicer place. Unless the politicians get their teeth into it

Is low carb diet a risk for AF?
I’d really appreciate hearing advice from you as I know you have a vast amount of knowledge. A friend has sent me the link below regarding low carb diets causing AF. I’ve changed my diet to low carb: moderate amounts of fat, beans, nuts, seeds, chicken, fish, colourful vegetables, some fruits, and kefir

News from the NIH, 40 years late but what are you going to do? They confirm our diet advice but I wish they were more emphatic about it.
https://newsinhealth.nih.gov/2019/03/skinny-fat https://www.fattyliverfoundation.org/compare_diets Fat is an essential nutrient for our bodies. It provides energy. It helps our guts absorb certain vitamins from foods. But what types of fat should you be eating? Are there any you should avoid? Recommendations

Child Nutrition
On the back of a previous post regarding children and LCHF, a thought struck me this morning. And using Occam's razor, whilst trying to achieve a balanced diet perhaps I'd consider it somewhere between Paleo/vegan and throw in some dairy.

Acidity and Levothyroxine
Is it normal to get a feeling of acidity when you take your daily Levothyroxine? I’m on the Teva brand, 125mg, I also follow a gluten free diet.

End stage symptoms?
Hi all As per my original story I am seeking support in caring for my Dad. It has been a year now since we were in a general hospital having the acities drained. His appetite is good and overall doesn't look as jaundice. He says he can feel the fluid though his stomach is not distended. Can anyone give

The weight Issue
Once again trying to lose weight, told my GP I needed help he tried to get me on a trial for a gastric band, but was refused and told to go on a diet. So my GP gave me Orislat but as I have a low fat diet they did not work. So booked another appointment with him, in the meantime I have spent money on

Damn the Torpedoes Part 1. Introduction.
Ok folks, on the back of my previous post here’s my program for the coming two or three weeks. This was to have been one long post, but as there is a lot of ground to cover, I will break it up into more manageable chunks. But before we go there here’s a little background. I am 69 years old, weigh 176

To Fat or not to Fat?
Hi, I have dieted on and off for years and have had the “Low Fat” is best message tattooed on my brain. However I know that thought on this are changing. With high cholesterol I thought reducing Lipids is a good idea by adopting low fat diet and exercising. I am aware of healthy fats such as nuts, oily
