Hello bubblegum1964 and welcome to the forum 😊
It sounds as though you've been given some advice about the changes you need to make to your diet. Were you also advised that, when you reduce your carbs you need to increase healthy fats? That's where you need to get your energy from.
There's good advice at diabetes.co.uk

Hola from sunny Spain! Don't give up - low carb high fat is def the way to go. Maybe you should look at portion sizes? When I started I weighed and worked out macros for everything until I was confident I was getting proportions about right ... sounds like a pain in the bum but worth it if only for a couple of weeks! (I should add that if you have to record everything it makes you think even more about exactly what you're eating!)
Hi Bubblegum and welcome to the forum! I also follow a low carb diet and find great enjoyment in it! Hopefully once you get used to the changes you'll enjoy it too best of luck with it and hope to see you around the forum
Echo cheritorrox 's advice about logging things at first until you get the hang of it. It may be that your fat is too low and protein to high and your body is converting excess protein to glucose.
Have a play around on MFP, the piechart of tge fat/carbs/protein split per day is really handy, and free!
Hello bubblegum, Are you exercising as well? Minimum one hour, ( 45 mins perhaps in first week) per DAY , walk, swim, tennis anything sporty, plus getting enough SLEEP? Best etc
Chrissie
If you have diabetes a low glycemic diet might help steer clear of sugar foods and drink.
Sodium also plays a part so either for me I salt or non at all. I stopped salt 9 yrs ago.
Sugar I am still working on. good luck I hope this helps
