Day 3
Hi guys and gals, back again. Currently on day three 50mg Pred. I’ve notice that the pain in my temple is almost gone when I wake up but by about 1 or 2pm it’s starts to return. Not bad just the usual tender throb. I take my Pred about 7am. Not sure how long it takes for symptoms to fully disappear

What's Happening???
So, I'm a bit confused. Had been on a good program with steady loss of about 1.5 lbs per week. Down about 17 lbs - traveled for about 6 weeks and maintained pretty well maybe up about a lb. I returned home last week and immediately went back to original program - LCHF. I might not have been perfect

Prednisone, and weight gain
Most of us have experienced this - it can be a real struggle to control weight when on corticosteroids. Until I tapered to under 12 mg even a very low carb diet did not have a significant impact on my weigh gain - and I was trying. Now at 10.5 mg weight loss has become MUCH easier. But this experience

Help with blood test results - taking too much levothyroxine?
Hello, I just got my results back (I'm still waiting for folate) from my latest blood test after starting levothyroxine earlier this year. I wasn't able to get a full thyroid panel (I'm overseas and it's not offered here) but I'm hoping you can give me some advice based on my results. I'm wondering if

Low carb with fat eating plan for healthy liver ??
I am trying to reduce my NAFLD and cholesterol. There is conflicting advice as to whether a low carb diet with fat is healthy or not. Are there any forum members who have achieved a reduction in liver fat by following a low carb diet with fat ? Just not sure which diet to follow for the best.

Non alcoholic fatty liver and safe diet
I am going to try a low carb diet and recipes I have researched have fat in them such as cream, cheese and coconut milk. I have stopped rubbish carbs and sugar. Can anyone advise whether this higher fat diet is safe for someone with fatty liver (never drank alcohol other than a glass at Christmas). Thanks

Good News
I have had CKD for at least 10 years. Going back in time my GFR ran between 49 and 56. Finally felt my mortality and researched CKD, diets, and kidney friendly nutrition. I read Lee Hull's book, among others, and found it fascinating. So, 3 months ago I switched from a normal, American diet to a

Nobody seems to know what the questions are - let alone the answers. "Junk food" is bad - but does "junk food" include all processed food - including cheese? How can low carb be good for the planetary health?
Yet another report. More than 11,000 scientists from 153 countries have signed a declaration of climate emergency, urging people to eat less meat. https://t.co/QDdfj4ba7k And just in case you thought eating fish was good for plantary health.. . A new report confirms that most of the plastic in the ocean

Gallbladder removed 5 years ago
I had my gallbladder removed due to sludge over 5 years ago. I also have IBS for many years. I have pain in the area off/on and get gassy and/or constipated at times. I had an MRI of my back due to a car accident and this is what they put on report. No one seems concerned? I have pain in the area and

GFR dropping fast!
Hello. I'm a 58 year old woman diagnosed with CKD about 5 years ago. During the last few years I stayed pretty much at stage 3. I had a great nephrologist, then I moved to another state. Admittedly the move hasn't been great and I have gained 7 lbs! But most concerning is my GFR, since June, has dropped

So...
I need to lose 2/3 of my body weight. Due to pain, gym/exercise is very difficult. I also work 8am-8pm 5 days a week and do voluntary work at the weekends so when i do have time to go somewhere there's nowhere open near me, even supposing I could afford the £100/month they wanted last time I inquired

Gluten Free / anti-bodies
Hi. For the last 5 months I've been gluten free, as I was trying to reduce my thyroid anti-bodies. In May they were TPO 79, and it's now 70. The TG was 616 and is now 520. To me that's not a lot of difference, and I feel no different. I admit there are more options at the shops these days, but eating
