I am going to try a low carb diet and recipes I have researched have fat in them such as cream, cheese and coconut milk. I have stopped rubbish carbs and sugar. Can anyone advise whether this higher fat diet is safe for someone with fatty liver (never drank alcohol other than a glass at Christmas). Thanks everyone. My blood were ok apart from raised GGT.

Hi, there was a similar question here a little while ago which had some excellent replies and various links for you to follow up healthunlocked.com/lchf-die...
Good luck and enjoy it
Update on my nafl which went from 28 to I think 117 (2018) anything over 30 is bad. I am teetotal so it had to be something else. Dr was really condescending about low carb and said it would kill me!!! After research I reduced my pain killers, I knew that wasn't the cause as I have been on them 20 years with no liver enzyme problems for thyroid related pain.
I read about cinnamon being toxic to liver (supermarket cinnamon not expensive Sri Lankan one) that immediately rang alarms, I had started adding cinnamon to everything as a sweetner and stop cravings plus balance blood sugar. 6 months no cinnamon and liver ALT down to 27 it was that simple. I keep food/mood/symptoms diary so I can identify triggers. Dr's in my experience are blinkered to everything.
