New GCA diagnosis
Hi spent the best part of this week in and out of the hospital. Diagnosed with PMR in March. Responded well to 15mg of Prednisolone. Started the taper of 1mg per month and was feeling fine. Then 2 weeks ago developed a pain in my jaw and side of left side of my face and tenderness around my temples.

Chest Tightness
Hello. I have been here before because I was worried about a tightness sensation I was getting in my chest. I have since been to A&E to get checked, had all the tests (blood tests, ECG, x-ray), and everything was fine. Straight after the tests I was taken to a specialist part of the hospital as a follow-up

Gosh that was quick Ablation tomorrow
Hey Everyone,So only just had my pre-op like a few days ago & just got the call Ablation is tomorrow due to a cancellation! Guess I'll be getting the answers by about ECG sooner rather than later. I'm now really nervous 😬 but glad I'll have less time to freak out 😂 As a side note last night was terrible

Confused. Any advice appreciated!
Having been diagnosed only 12 days ago I found myself back in A & E in the early hours of this morning! I reckon this attack started about half an hour before I woke as I'm sure I sort of new I had it. Woke up at 4 am to full blown AF. Tried breathing exercises, reading, walking around but by 6am realised

Vitamins
Hi. I had a mild heart attack in October 2021, one stent fitted. Follow up echocardiogram ecg in April 2022, all good, told no further appointments unless there's any problems. I am currently on Candesartan, Bisoprolol, Omeprazole, Aspirin and Rosuvastatin. No one has reviewed this since October 2022

Update #6 Clear Decks
Hi all 👋 Continuing on from my previous post here - https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/149372691/update-5-back-to-front I am officially bareback… 😬 but don’t worry, it’s not for long. Phase 1 of the plan now begins! It’s taken me about 5/6 weeks, but I have weaned down slowly from 2.5 grains

Hi all, First time posting in this forum I have posted in the main BHF a few times. I'm currently waiting for an AF Ablation and recently had my preoperative assessment for it. The nurse kindly gave me a copy of my ECG and naturally I took to googling to try understand it ofcourse getting nowhere 😂

diagnosed with atrial fibrillation recently.
hi. I’m a 61 year old female. I have had palpations for about the last 18 months. Only lasting a few hours to start with but from october 2022 they’ve been lasting longer and more frequent. I have a history of pulmonary embolisms that have occurred after surgery and after long haul flight. Finally

Clinical Physiologist
Please can any of you explain to me what exactly is a Clinical Physiologist ? I usually see my cardiologist once a year, along with a routine echocardiogram and ecg. This year, I saw my GP because I have been getting a lot of palpitations which Kardia diagnose as PVCs and SVEs ) He said he would contact

Inferior Infart
I had an ECG yesterday. I had only a glimpse of the chart and on it was 'Inferior Infart'. Does anyone know what this means? Thanks, Paul.

Celiac disease and haematology
My daughter has taken over my care with the doctor. He wants me to eat gluten after being off it since 2013 and have a celiac test. He has been onto haematology about my red blood cells. The normal range should be 100 and mine was a 110. They were not worried but he thinks it because I am not eating.

A Miracle Has Happened, also a Gentle Warning to Everyone Taking Flecainide
Hi Everyone I used to take 100mg Flecainide alongside 12.5mg of Metoprolol twice daily for many years - perhaps as many as 7 - 10 years. Last August my cardiologist looked at my ECG and said you need to stop taking Flecainide as it looks like that could be causing your problems - tiredness and breathless

Ectopic beats
Hi thereI just had an ecg and was doing ok until the last few seconds when I had to stop as my legs were sore and breathing was laboured. It turns out I had some polymorphic ventricular ectopics which on the print out looked like ky heart had gone crazy. No chest pain at all. I am already taking verapamil

Things might be looking up?
Just an update... Following a flare up of suspected pericarditis (Following myocarditis) recently I was put back on colchicine about 4 weeks ago. The pain is less frequent, and less severe. I'm sleeping much better, and I can sit back on the sofa and lie on my back in bed - if only for a short while

Enlarged Left Atrial
Hi I am having an optional plastic surgery. My Heam said it was fine. My preop EKG stated that while my EKC is consistant with the last time I had one, I also "possibly" have an enlarged left atrial. Huh. I have a 1st degee block that has not progressed but this is new. Has anyone ever heard of that?
