Colonoscopy update
Hi everyone, earlier this year I had stomach issues and pain in my lower right side and blood in my stool and got a CT scan which didn't find anything and then got some more medicine which didn't 100% solve the issue (you can read all about it in my 1st post) , anyways due to time and me being busy

vitamin D ?
Hi .. as per previous posts my rls is extremely bad a few times a week , my ferritin levels were 41 before but have gone up to 74 today after more blood tests last week . ( I’ve been taking iron ) However , they said I’m deficient in vitamin D so I had a look online and they say studies have been linked

stomach alternative
when I was getting off of years of Nexium and then omeprazole my research showed that I could take DGL. It coats the stomach and doesn’t raise blood pressure. Now if I need an occasional medication for the stomach, I take plain licorice(I have low blood pressure) and calcium carbonate (which is what

Prescribing of opiods
Having spent time working with Dr Jose Thomas in Cardiff, I obtained a referral letter to my gp surgery recommending low dose opioids. I had a very good consultation with my gp who appeared to understand the desperation I was experiencing and said that she was going to look at a range of options including

colonoscopy and endoscopy concerns
I am scheduled to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy in 1 week. My last colonoscopy was 8 years ago and the two colonoscopies before that found nothing but hemorrhoids ( all colonoscopies were pre CLL diagnosis in Oct of 2017). I have never had an endoscopy but I do have a cough that seems to start after

IBD-colitis
Information but comment: I have ulcerative colitis. My specialist nurse told me that some people with IBD also suffer with RLS. As high as 20%. I have an appointment with my GP next week, I will see if she was aware of this relationship. Previously I asked her to prescribe Dipyridamole for RLS, and

Hello All! I've been keeping abreast of information on the forum, although I haven't posted in a while (not felt that I've had much to offer in the way of answers :) ). However, I was hoping I might get some more guidance from the wise folks on here. I've updated my bio. with the latest chapters related

Chronic constipation and no definitive diagnosis
Hi all, I've had problems with constipation ever since I was a child. I'm now in my mid 20s and have been to the doctors countless times regarding my constipation. My latest appointment, the doctor said I have slow bowels because my stools are always on the severely constipated end of the stool chart

Diverticulitis diet stages
I've read that a liquid diet should be followed when there's a flare up. Should you wait til pain has gone before moving on to soft diet? When should you resume fibre diet?

In vivo & in vitro: CRISPR 9 new approach to attack PCa proof of concept
The idea is to use the CRISPR technology to tweak prostate cancer cells so that they build up a specific type of compound (called porphyrins) that is usually harmless unless exposed to certain types of light. New member - symptoms??
I'm new here but would like to know if anyone has similar symptoms... I have been diagnosed with probable IBS (D but sometimes C) by my GP (exclusion diagnosis after various tests). My main symptom is discomfort in the upper right abdomen which is just about always present. Occasionally it is more painful

Post Colonoscopy Result - what could it be?
Hi all, I posted previously about stomach issues I was experiencing. What I could only describe as flare ups - stomach pain, inflamed feeling and sometimes vomiting. Had a stool test done and the calprotectin levels were 500+ I had my colonoscopy today and was so sure they’d say that I had very obvious

Left side new pain
I've got a new symptom lol. Pain at waist level about 3 inches to the left of my navel. It comes and goes and moving around sometimes helps. I do have diverticular in the left sigmoid colon but this is higher up in my abdomen. It's not like a normal churning IBS flare up - bowels relatively normal

Two positive IFA tests, one negative. But positives were all about an hour after receiving b12 injections?
I had low b12, at 156. They gave me the injection. About an hour later they drew my blood and I was pos for IFA but neg for PA. I had an endoscopy and had no atrophic gastritis, so was given another IF test and this time was neg. Went to a new Dr and she gave me a b12 shot, and about 45 minutes later
