Still here and fighting the urge!
What a week! Giving up smoking, the worst abcess I have ever had - think squirrel with stuffed cheek! Pain so intense I have cried and even given oramorph because I can't take codeine but I still haven't given in. Why? Because I have never felt so supported as I am at the moment by people I haven't met

Any support greatly received
Hi everyone, it's great to find a forum to share and receive support. My beloved brother has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer which has spread to his liver. He has just turned 50 and had been visiting his GP since December with a persistent cough for the previous 6 months before his diagnosis

Morphine no longer works - next step is...?
I've been on various doses of morphine - from codeine & SR MST to oramporph & sevredol - for over 6 years, but I don't think it's working anymore. Well, it definitely isn't working anymore. Thing is, I was discharged from the pain clinic a few years ago because I managed to reduce my dose to 120mg codeine

Lidocaine Infusion
Come Monday at 7 in the morning I'm having a lidocaine infusion. My pain consultant thinks it's worth a try, even though it's not actually licensed for neuropathic pain. I take so much morphine, in both tablet and liquid form, that she's amazed I'm not dead! I was warned that one day I'll take so much
