11 years after and depression seems to have got worse!!!
2002 A night out in town, after too much to drink and not being able to flag a taxi, i thought it would be better to cross the road so we had traffic covered both ways. I continued to talk as i crossed the road and didnt look to my right as i crossed, a mini bus hit me. This filped me in the air and

my partner was assaulted and punched in a random attack last May when we were on our way home from a night out. He suffered a severe TBI, subdural hematoma, week in a coma, 6 weeks post traumatic amnesia and is still having out patient rehab now. I have taken so much comfort from reading about other

Hospice Care
Hi Dorothy, I found our hospice help invaluable when I was looking after my sister. She attended the day centre one day each week which gave me a much needed break. Also she has two ten day respite breaks in the in patient centre. The care was wonderful on every level, from the physical, emotional

So unimpressed
Well it's been 12 hours since my last blog. I'm in bed in pain, and I'm annoyed at myself for allowing my tutor for stressing me out yesterday and reducing me to tears. I honestly didn't think it had much of an effect of me as it has. Woke up in pain, she caused unnecessary pain on me by blackmailing

HOW CAN THESE PEOPLE SLEEP AT NIGHT!!!!!!!
If something is labeled 'Disabled' the first thing is they put the price up. Their argument is it's a limited market. !Hello! There are more registered disabled now than 10 years ago whether through illness. accidents or wars, So how can we be classed as 'limited' in any way, shape or form. But

Me again - sorry
As our daughter has grown over the last year, thankfully the frequent tantrums have reduced . I am sure that is age related rather than anything else. However, what we are now left with is far less frequent but far more explosive tantrums. A good example this week was a neighbour very kindly

My partner is currently in rehab after suffering hypoxic brain injury 7 weeks ago.
His physio is coming along really well, however his cognitive skills are not.I've been told that he may have to be assessed and moved elsewhere as they are worried that the more mobile he becomes, the more he is likely to wander off and become a danger to himself. I'm conscious that the unit he is in

Incontinence.
My husband wears a conveen day and night but sometimes the night time one comes off and the results are obvious. The company have supplied us with extra fixing for the conveen but it does not always help. I am reluctant to cut down on his fluids for obvious reasons. Has anyone got any other suggestions

Apathy taking over my life
Hi, This is my first post. I havent felt myself for about a year now. I started to notice last year when things in my life wouldnt affect me (good or bad) and it has got worse and worse (and there was nothing bad going on in my life to cause it). I now dont really care, about anything. I feel emotionally

Caesarean under general anaesthetic due to placenta previa
Hi, I'm now 26 weeks pregnant and have placenta previa. My placenta is completely covering my cervix and anterior. So I'm a planned section anyway due to 2 previous sections and a neo natal death. However, my midwife has said that due to my placenta being anterior the would have to cut through it to

I have a question about my immune issues related to the the rest of my problems. I have low lymphocytes on last blood test.......
I have a CFS diagnosis after my hypothyroid one (hypo 17 yrs on T4, CFS 7yrsish). I have been trying to address the myriad of related issues for last few years..... working on adrenals and thyroid, and gut and diet and just trying to work out the puzzle and how to improve my health. Through it all

Can you REMEMBER WHEN?,HealthUnlocders
REMEMBER WHEN: All the girls had ugly gym slips. It took five minutes for the TV to warm up. Nearly everyones Mum was home when the kids got home from school. Nobody owned a pure bred dog. You'd reach into a muddy gutter for a penny. When a Ford Zepyr was everyone's dream car.......

What's Going on in His Head?
Browsing the Edinburgh Science Festival programme last night I spotted a talk called What's Going on in His Head and immediately booked tickets. James Piercy is a science lecturer who had an experience very similar to my own, a road traffic accident leaving him in a coma, being flown to hospital and

Countdown to Easter
I am working a late shift today then I am off for a week for Easter :) Of course I feel anxious about being off, nervous of what might happen, worried that some disaster might strike. But I am going to try and make an effort and do some positive stuff, even if it is freezing cold out there. I

Cold day again - keep warm - 7 tips.
Good Morning Everbody. Even though we apparently statistically more likely to have snow in March than at christmas this winter keeps on going and going. The Met office have issued a Cold Weather warning for England (the other regions do not fund cold weather warnings). Presumably Scotland, Wales

A head injury affects your mental health, physiological and psychological health are connected in many ways for most health issues but in a head injury they are pretty indistinguishable - is really is all in the head. I've avoided pretty well all of that which I'm really pleased about but I'm mindful
