Anybody try LDN?
I was wondering if anyone has tried low dose naltrexone (LDN) for their PMR? My Functional Medicine GP has said that she has successfully treated many of her patients with a variety of conditions using this medication at very low doses. I am sure my Rheumatologist would not agree to prescribing since

Ileostomy questions
I was wondering if anyone could answer any questions that I have. Nothing too serious just some random questions. I have been told by the surgeons that I might be having ostomy surgery. That is all I was told, I have done a lot of research but I am currently waiting on a call from my Gastroenterologist

I have noticed of late that I am dropping things and becoming clumsy. Is this an RA thing I wonder. It isn't serious, just annoying. I am 84 and was diagnosed 4 years ago. I take MXT 20mgm orally once a week. The pads on my finger ends have a strange feeling that you get when you are getting over a

In need of positive reinforcement
Hi all, I’m so sorry I haven’t been on here lately. As I’m sure you can imagine I’ve been quite preoccupied trying to figure everything out post covid. A year ago I lost my job, and my career prospects seem more bleak than ever. I live in New York and things have been getting more difficult as I’ve

Is it better to take Medrol at nighttime inside the time release capsules or in the morning? I had been taking at nighttime and after watching Dr Sarah Mackie’s recent lecture I have changed it to the morning. But am feeling stiffer and a bit more achy. She states that taking the prednisone in the morning

COVID and Sedatation
My dad is going through something similar. He has been in ICU since the Jan 3rd, he was on a vent and now a trach. Every time doctors reduced his sedation he gets agitated and they keep giving him sedation. Doctors think he might have brain damage because he is not responding to commands but when family

Mental Decline
Good morning, Everyone! It is hard to be despondent on a day like I am enjoying. The sun is beautiful on the snow and the temperatures are heading towards 40 today I hope to take my hubby out for a wheelchair ride this afternoon. In the last few weeks, but especially the last few days I have noticed

A Different Perspective
Having been seen privately by an eminent rheumatologist.......a leading authority in the field of PMR/GCA, since my diagnosis in May 2019, I decided to change to NHS care, as weirdly there is much more support available in between appointments when you're under the NHS than as a private patient! I had

Aggression
My husband had a AVM rupture about 9 years ago and in July two years ago he was in a motorcycle accident that caused a severe concussion. Since the accident he has suffered with a lot of things but aggression is his biggest. What have you done in situations of anger? Today he was upset that I said not

Another update on my dad
Spoke to the consultant today, my dad’s making good progress so far and they’re pleased about his lungs. They had him sitting up in a chair and breathing on his own, although he tired. He still has secretions, so they’re thinking they’ll look to extubate by midweek.I asked about his stroke and whether

Post concussion syndrome
So I’m 2 Years in from my accident with 2 small brain bleeds. Still struggle with dizziness and a pulsating head, fatigue and short term memory loss, all normal but frustrating and still unable to work. This isn’t constant but recovery is incredibly slow. I seem to struggle with reading glasses feel
