I have already gone gluten free and have started supplementing properly particularly with selenium to lower my Hashimotos antibodies, just been upped on levothyroxine to 100mg to get my TSH under 2.5 as I will be trying to conceive soon. Also had a recent miscarriage which may have been due to thyroid.
I’ve heard of people being prescribed low dose naltrexone for high antibodies, and in some cases steroids. I’m on waiting list to see endocrinologist on nhs, how likely would they be to prescribe one of these if I asked?
Also, does anyone have any experience of requesting tests for other autoimmune conditions which can be linked to Hashimotos?
Thanks

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change or brand change in levothyroxine
Which brand of levothyroxine do you get
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Aiming for Ft4 and Ft3 at least 60% minimum through range
Frequently TSH will be well under one when adequately treated
Essential to test folate, ferritin and B12 at least annually
Vitamin D twice year when supplementing
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
