I have noticed of late that I am dropping things and becoming clumsy. Is this an RA thing I wonder. It isn't serious, just annoying. I am 84 and was diagnosed 4 years ago. I take MXT 20mgm orally once a week. The pads on my finger ends have a strange feeling that you get when you are getting over a burn to the skin, is this relevant? I have noticed it more in these past months of lockdown. Thank you!

I am very clumsy but I would talk to the gp about the finger tips as it could be significant with the drugs and your condition ,there are various circulation or skin problems they might check.
Agree with Allanah that any loss of sensation should be raised with your doctor... but if you’ve only just started dropping things at 84 you are doing very well!
I've always been a wee bit clumsy, but am far more so since acquiring RA. I've accidentally broken a lot of dishes!
I too am very clumsy i seem to drop everything and i am sure it not, but it feels like it to me. My balance is off as well. xxx
Yes this is an arthritis thing QUAGS, sometimes even though I'm gripping things right it doesn't feel right to me and fingers can feel like jelly or as if they don't belong to me. The burning tips of your fingers is another affect as well as arthritis affects nerve endings, so you should mention this to your doctor or medical team.
I wonder if you are the oldest person on this forum QAGS, or are others even older? Anyways I better shut up now before I get accused of ageism. But congratulations to you for lasting so many years!! 😍
Dropping things was an early symptom of my RD, as was tripping and losing my good sense of balance. All of these have got worse as the disease progresses. I also share some of the symptoms madme1 (above) outlines about things not feeling right when gripped.
If you are worried it might be worthwhile mentioning to your team.
Well, such a relief to hear that it's not only me who keeps bumping into door frames, almost falling over in the street and dropping stuff in the kitchen. Not enjoying all the RA add-on issues at all at the moment 😐
Yes, definitely. I find not so much with my hands but I trip over and stumble all the time instead!
