Thyroid eye disease
I need help! I have hyperactive thyroid, one of my eye started to swell and bulge out little bit. Now one of my eye is bigger than the other one. I completely lost self confidence. My gp said his going to refer me to a eye specialist but this takes 10 days for the referral to be sent. I am on Carbinazole

Trab went well
I just wanted to share that my trab on Tuesday went very well, despite my fears about having only a local anaesthetic. I got some great support from people on here back in the summer when I knew it was on the cards which was very helpful. I was made very comfortable and didn't feel a thing, not even

Interesting Webinar Takeaways
I watched a webinar yesterday morning on a site called New Horizons and they shared some hopeful new developments in glaucoma research so I thought I'd share them on here: Vitamin B3 Nicotinamide showed slight improvement in the vision of the participants of a limited study. It could possibly be neuroprotective

First diagnosis finally
I don’t no how I feel about this. Not sure I lf I am happy or sad. But today after months of eye hospital visits I have been diagnosed with severe autoimmune inflammatory eye disease and given immunosuppression eye drops and more steroids. My rheumatologist has now handed me over to the connective tissue

Knee replacements - maybe TMI but if you are really interested ...
On Nov 18th at 1.05am I recorded a repeat of a programme on Channel 5: Minute By Minute. Medical documentary series. Highlights of an operation to remove the ends of the bones of a patient's knee joint and replace them with metal-and-plastic substitutes. Those of you who have had or are expecting to

Inhibition of Epstein-Barr virus reactivation in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells by dietary sulforaphane 2013
EBV is a very common latent virus (up to 95% prevalence) and has been linked to autoimmune diseases and inflammation. PD may be an autoimmune disease. Seeing what things tamper down EBV. DNA fragment testing after chromosome miscarriage outcome
Hi all, Looking for some advice or help if anyone has even done this. Following failed transfer wnd then a missed miscarriage at 9.5 weeks. Our tissue testing showed chromosome abnormalities snd now we have devised to start from day one and try for more eggs. I’m really scared the same thing happens

Double vision while bending over
I went back up to 40mg Prednisolone on Thursday as a result of a GCA flare. No symptoms on Thursday or Friday, but then today I've had six short periods of double vision (which I was having when first diagnosed back in January, and then during the first part of this flare). Three of today's were while

For women in early 40s, will single transfers give better results than multiple transfers?
Hi everyone. I had my breast lump examined yesterday and was relieved to get the all-clear. 🎉It's a cyst, from the IVF drugs (which had already shrunk massively since stopping meds) - they drained it (delightful) so all good to press on with a FET! I have no idea how my clinic does FETs, e.g. if they'll

DVLA Visual Field Test
Hi, I’ve just got my letter from DVLA asking me to arrange a VFT as expected. However, I’ve only ever had one VFT and this is the first time for DVLA and I am nervous about it. It doesn’t help that it’s at Specsavers who I went to 5 times in 2019 telling them I had a problem with my vision and they

SIBO and Elevated Liver Enzymes
I have had gastro issues the last two months after using a proton pump inhibitor in May and was finally diagnosed with SIBO on Monday. My GI started me on Rifaximin and Neomycin last night. She did a liver function panel test before I started on the antibiotics and the AST was 52 and the ALT was 73.

Can too much amniotic fluid be dangerous on your baby?
At our 16 week private gender scan we were referred to fetal medicine unit because they discovered that there is too much fluid around our baby, ( Polyhydramnios) it was confirmed by the FMU and they recommended to do amniocentesis but I’m too scared because there is a risk of infection miscarriage and

Tapered off Mirapex about 8 weeks ago, new meds causing morning sedation and anxiety. Do I just have to cope with that?
Hi all- my first real post here, thought I should introduce myself! I have a lot of questions... I've had RLS since I was 12. Have been taking Mirapex for 30 years maybe? Up to about 1mg/day, was augmenting. Was tapered off, last dose in late Sep 2021. I see an RLS doctor at Yale, he seems pretty

At the same time, in his judgment, he explained the relationship between on-label and off-label treatment. In a dispute
