Should I still be taking Omeprazole when the only pain killer I now take is paracetamol?
Good afternoon, Not posted before but have been thinking about reviewing my medication and am still on omeprazole as was taking NSAIDs for chronic back and neck pain. I have been unable to take NSAIDs since being diagnosed with AF in 2017 so wonder if I need to take them I take maybe 4 a day now as

Are there any anti-inflammatories that are safe with afib?
Hi all, Hope you're having a pleasant Sunday. Quick question: after my ablation, I was told - absolutely DO NOT take ibuprofen or any other anti-inflammatories; is this true? I'd not thought about it since, just taken paracetamol instead but I have other serious health issues that are getting a bit much

Is it safe to have Shingles jab?
Hi everyone, have now been off Pred for six months after having Pmr for nearly seven years. I have been offered a shingles jab, but am reluctant to have it in case my immune system is still low, or it causes pmr to rear it's ugly head again Could I have advice please. Thank you, Jenny x

Cold sores
I have retired at last but in so much pain all the time and cold sore after cold sores, after losing my husband five years ago I have a partner who treats me very well but I’m feeling like a pain in the neck to him, last year I had ulcers on my leg that took 5 months to heal he would change my dressings

The last lap? Advice please.
Diagnosed in April 2019, with excruciating pain, classic very high inflammatory markers, no response to prescribed NSAID's, and a "miraculous" 8 hour response to Pred. I have been lucky and have managed a steady and flare-free reduction (using DSNS and 2am doses) with temporary stalling for a month

Turmeric instead of a blood thinner?
Hi all, wondering if there’s anyone out there who has moved off of using prescription blood thinners in favor of “natural “ remedies such as turmeric? I see on the internet a lot of warnings not to use turmeric while on a blood thinner, but no mention of going the other way ‘round , which seems like

Fatigue
Hi, I had my HA 4 weeks ago and been on 80mg atorvastatin since. I am tired all the time. Spoke to the cardiac rehab nurse who advised my to keep a week BP diary and send to GP. Spoke to GP and he said that GP would not be happy changing meds so soon and should be sent to cardiac nurses/consultant.

Brick wall is bigger than ever
I feel completely deflated. Seeing my rheumatologist gave me so much hope that I was going to find out what’s going on and start looking forward to some answers and possible some treatment to stop me feeling so awful. And now I have had it all blow up in my face. My rheumatologist was almost certain

Shingles vaccine
I'm booked to have a Shingles jab shortly. Has anyone had this while on Prednisolone? Were you okay? Any side effects.

Boils, Carbuncles and Abscesses
It has been such a long time since I have been in this space or written anything. I had a really nasty flare and and continuous colds that I thought it would never end. Since last year April I have had reoccurring boils and carbuncles. Due to Covid-19 I have not seen a GP because they would not allow

Initially treated with sulphasalazine, to which I reacted v badly but took for long enough to bring my inflammatory markers down before I stopped as I wanted to get pregnant again (RA started during my first pregnancy

Anyone taking NSAID's while on Blood Thinners
My orthopedist prescribed a one month course of daily Meloxicam (Mobic) for my shoulder pain. Mobid is an NSAID like Ibuprofen, Advil, Alleve, etc. Both my primary doctor and EP were concerned because I'm on the blood thinner, Xarelto. The pharmacist said the combination OK as long as long as it wasn't

BILOLOGICS TNF INHIBITORS
Hey fellow pain sufferers. So I was diagnosed with Spondyloarthitis/ Psoriatic arthritis on Monday. When discussing treatment options I asked about Biologic treatments as NSAIDs have never really worked for me. The rhuematologist told me that I am not eligible for them as my MRI did not show inflammation
