Questions about Topamax
Hi, Everyone. Haven't been on here in a while. My doc wants me to take topamax. This is to reduce migraines but I've read it also might help RLS. Does anyone here know if it causes augmentation (since it's a dopamine agonist)? Any other info you can offer would be helpful, too. Side effects? She's

Dopamine agonists or levodopa?
I am 53 and was diagnosed PD 8 years . I am currently on 1/2 spoon of Zandopa and 1/4 Sinemet, 4 times a day. The medication only lasts for about 2 hours, so each day has been a hell for me. I am currently deciding on whether I should go with dopamine agonists first, or I should add more zandopa/ Macuna

Ramipril and Furosemide and RLS
I was just wondering if anyone else is prescribed these medications? I was retaining a lot of water last year and my blood pressure was through the roof at times and now I take Furosemide 40mg for the water retention and Ramipril 2.5 caps for my blood pressure. I don’t know how long I’ll be on this

I wanted to know if stimulant medication would make a person with ADHD go "stimulated" and become 'too active'?
I wanted to know if stimulant medication would make a person with ADHD go "stimulated" and become, say, 'too active'. My wife with ADHD is considering taking stimulant medication such as Ritalin. The symptom or consequence we are experiencing is that her strong abrupt desire to "be free" - divorce.

My experience with medically prescribed vaping for RLS
I have had RLS since my 20's and I am now 72. I have avoided taking dopamine agonists and other RLS medications for fear of augmentation. My chosen path is an anti-inflammatory diet, supplements, healthy lifestyle and so far I do manage to live a reasonable life. In the past 2 years I have embraced

Who has had genetics testing?
Here is my husbands diagram of pathways involving dopamine and seratonin. Is anyone else able to post their one? It would be interesting to see similarities and how they match up with symptoms.

Reprogram your brain to destroy laziness and improve focus
I’m not sure what this will be like but it might be interesting. I think apathy can be seen as “laziness” by some people so perhaps it has some ways to help with apathy which is one of my husbands symptoms. Apathy is caused by low dopamine. I am pretty sure his was also caused by taking mirtazapine

Possible future RLS med?
I'm invested in a biotech startup Vistagen which has several drugs in FDA trials. They use a fast acting nasal mist using pherines as a means to absorb the drug with minimal side effects. Their main two drugs are intended to be a replacement for benzos and SSRIs for anxiety and depression . While doing

Green tea, turmeric, and black pepper to increase dopamine
I've recently been reading that green tea, turmeric, and black pepper can serve as inhibitors of MAO-- enzymes that break down neurotransmitters, including dopamine, in the brain. I just started supplementing with these natural products. Does anyone have experience with this?

Anxiety, Dopamine and Serotonin

Dopamine Agonist Official Withdrawal Advice (from Dr Earley??)
Just found this "detox" advice on a RLS Facebook page I was looking through. It's the first time I've ever seen a formal sheet explaining what will happen during DA withdrawal. It certainly reflects what I went through. It might be useful for anyone going through it, or thinking of doing so. It would

Reduce Dopamine Therapy
Reduce Dopamine The data in this new study show that instead of focusing on increasing brain dopamine in Parkinson’s patients, a more scientifically rational approach would be to reduce the amount of dopamine within the cells in the brain that control movement. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/could-all-experts-wrong-parkinsons-jonathan-sackner-bernstein-md

'Could All the Experts Be Wrong About Parkinson's?'
"There is already more than enough dopamine inside the cells. In some ways, using dopaminergic therapies is akin to whipping a tired horse; it helps for a few strides but doesn't affect long-term results." "Four laboratory studies report that blocking production of dopamine within these brain cells improves

How to Reduce Novelty Seeking Behaviour?
Hi, I am trying to control my novelty seeking behaviour. I find that even when I am doing something that I enjoy (like playing a video game or watching a TV show), I still constantly want to browse other games and in general keep looking for something new. This obviously is an addiction and it keeps
