Why Does High Dose Thiamine Work?
I like to keep challenging the items in my stack. HDT is in my stack. I believe in HDT. But why? So far I trust HDT because of the results from Dr Constantini and the testimonials. Time to look for some science: Neurological, Psychiatric, and Biochemical Aspects of Thiamine Deficiency in Children

What comes second to dopamine?
To the extent that the symptoms shown by PwP are caused by shortages or excesses of neurotransmitters what one comes after dopamine as the one most directly linked to PD. For a gentle introduction into the various neurotransmitters, see: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/326649 John

Intensive meditation practice triggers RLS
About 9 years ago, I took up meditation. It has helped me tremendously face life's challenges, and brought incredible moments of happiness and spiritual insight. I have not missed a day in the past 9 years, and have participated in several (14) intensive retreats, from 6 to 17 days in length. During

View Point: Disease Modification and Cell Secretome Based Approaches in Parkinson’s Disease: Are We on the Right Track?
To date, clinical testing of disease-modifying treatments has focused on substitution or repair of the remaining dopamine synthesizing neurons following diagnosis. At diagnosis, many of the still surviving and functioning, but already affected neurons have lost most of their axons and are primed for

NATURAL REMEDIES FOR ANXIETY
NATURAL REMEDIES FOR ANXIETY I was waking up with terrible thoughts of dread with muscles so stiff I couldn't roll over, much less get out of bed. It was like waking up in Hell every morning! I came across a thread where people were having such good results with 5-HTP and saying it was better than Prozac

Iboga / Ibogaine Summary (For Dopamine Regeneration!!)
I recently discovered Ibogaine / Iboga in my general psychedelics interest. It is a shrub from the Congo basin of Africa that has been used for thousands of years in healing and ceremony, stemming from the Pygmy and Fang cultures, in traditional Bwiti practices. It is still used by those that practice

Terazosin for Parkinson's Disease (TZ-PD) Trial

REFINING MY PREVIOUS QUESTION (,,, food for thought): should it be preferable in PSP to take phenylalanine instead of tyrosin supplements?
REFINING MY QUESTION (,,, food for thought...) Tyrosine is a dopamine percursor and as such appears to be a good option for supplementation in PSP. “Tyrosine hydroxylase” is the enzyme responsible for catalyzing the conversion of the amino acid L- tyrosine to L-DOPA. Tyrosine can also be made of phenylalanine

Dopamine.
https://youtu.be/EeRLIeglwZw Info starts at 57 The only thing I thought was interesting was when he said when you're using dopamine make sure you're supporting your detox pathways, with glutathione ect.. because the body will make ammonia, a lot of hydrogen peroxide and dopal.

Mannitol and B1: What’s going on?
Last September, my hwp for 16 years, started mannitol. Over the next months, this gradually allowed him to reduce his dopamine meds, first eliminating the Neupro patch, then gradually eliminating Rytary. He has cognitive impairment and too much of those 2 meds would cause hallucinations. But dialing

Pramipexole I am experiencing augmentation after being on Ropinerole for roughly 20 years. He has prescribed Pramipexole which is another dopamine agonist. I’m not sure if one would be any better than the other or if I’d be better with another form of medication Has anyone had the same sort of experience

Fred the iron molecules tale : The end
This will only make sense if you’ve read my previous post https://healthunlocked.com/rlsuk/posts/146515820/fred-the-iron-molecule-and-rls-a-story. There was a question in this post and I promised the writer of the best answer a chocolate muffin. It’s my opinion that the best information was provided

Fred the iron molecule, and RLS : A story.
A story with no ending. If you don't like stories skip to "THE END" I have an ex-colleague who used to teach physiology using guided imagery. I attended one of her lectures once on the oxygenation of blood. All the students had to close their eyes and sit, (or lie down) comfortably. Then she began

My RLS story - Augmentation, Detox, Life back
About 8 years ago I started getting RLS with trouble falling asleep occasionally. Most annoying was RLS on longer multi hour flights. I was starting to travel a lot more and it got to the point when I decided to consult my primary physician (PP) about it. We decided to try Mirapex and it worked like

Gene Therapy Success With Ties to Parkinson’s Disease
I posted this as a reply to Bass of Spade's optimistic post regarding gene therapy, but I think it's worthy of being the subject of a separate post. Gene Therapy Offers Long-Awaited Hope for Children with Rare, Incurable Disorder. Patients with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s May Benefit from Novel Treatment
