Mum has chronic alcohol liver disease and has weeks/days to live
So my mum is 54, 55 on Christmas day. And as the title says she is dying, we brought her home on 25th August from hospital, after her being admitted on 2nd July, she has had seizures, the last one has left her bed bound and unable to communicate properly and now the palliative team have told us to prepare

Serum Gamma GT - test result above "normal"
My last LFT (Serum Gamma GT level) tests have all been “abnormal”, the last test was in Oct 2016 - it was 192 u/L (normal being 0-39), and before then the last nine tests were also “abnormal”, and I haven't been re-tested for this since the one in October 2016. What does this type of abnormal result

Great news, not so great news and the AMD learning curve
My 1st Eylea injection in my left eye was June last year after which I've gone from every 4, then eventually 6, 8, 10 and now a 12 week gap between injections. The great news is that after my next injection in another 12 weeks they will stop but continue to monitor as the wet MD is pretty well dry now

They found the missing half of my liver!
Had an MRI with contrast yesterday and the whole liver was there again. Yay! I blame the Borrowers- sneaky little illegal lodgers. Looong day though. Took mom for her cardiology appointment at 10 then had to wait till 2 for my scan. Nearly fell asleep in there. Just the wait for the official relocation

Entresto - supply problems?
Hi, I have
dilated
cardiomyopathy
and have been taking Entresto for nearly a year. I realise this is a relatively new (and expensive) drug but it really has done wonders for me and I am leading a normal life thanks to it.

deteriorating health
I was diagnosed with
dilated
cardiomyopathy
in 2009 along with other medical conditions. This has been controlled with medication quite well but I have now had a congestive cough for 4 weeks which has not been responded to antibiotics (4 weeks prescription) .

Consultants in two specialties: Compare and contrast
In the recent High Court case determining whether the NHS is allowed to continue using Avastin rather than the far more expensive Lucentis (or the even more expensive alternative) one thought has repeatedly come to me. In treatment for wet macular degeneration, the consultants have been very strongly

Liver Function tests
Hi everyone, I had LFT done at GP surgery last week and the result was "satisfactory". I have a had a good few LFTs over the years and I've always had positive results. However, I have a very fatty liver with fibrosis so, I'm wondering what is the point of the LFT?

Question about right-sided pain
So I was diagnosed with NASH/liver fibrosis in February. I've drastically changed my lifestyle. Although it wasn't caused by alcohol, I did enjoy drinking occasionally, but haven't had any alcohol since December. I eat as healthy as I can living in the states. Pretty much just greens, meats and a little
