Ascites .
My husband has decompensated cirrhosis with ascites which has caused major fluid retention. He has had it drained on a regular basis and tried diuretics which then caused kidney problems! He just had spironolactone increased to 100mgs., but still can't get fluid under control. Has anyone else experienced

Pregnancy with Dilated Cardiomyopathy
Hello I wanted to see if anyone has advice or knowledge or experience of pregnancy with this condition? I am 29 and was diagnosed at 22 with the condition. I am currently stable and in a much better position than 7 years ago due to the medication I take. In order to have a baby I would have to come off

Nervous newbie
I’m 53 and due an angiogram in two weeks after being told I’ve got
dilated
cardiomyopathy
, eschemic heart disease, and a leaky mitral valve. The positive comments I’ve read on here and the fact that things could be worse( I’m still fairly stable and mobile) have kept me going on the dark days.

Alcoholic fatty liver?
Hi everyone! I’m 31 years old and just 2 months ago I was diagnosed with mild fatty liver after having some abdominal pain. My LFts were just moderately high. I have been drinking heavily and daily for about a year and half. I used to drink just moderately on the weekends. I have now finally decided

Very High Liver Function Tests - any insights?
Hi All, Recently I was sick with what seemed like a virus for a week and got bloods taken as I had high unexplained GGT (400) earlier in the year, and was curious why a simple virus had me ill for so long. However, this time the results came back high across the board. I got them repeated a few days

ALT getting higher, fibroscan referral, need advice
Hi, I'm an alcoholic who has drank 2 bottles of wine a night for about a year and a half. I've had my liver investigated this year, and found out a lot. I had a high ALT (124) which then went down to (112) with a normal GGT. I also had an ultrasound which showed a fatty liver. Throughout all of this,

IM injection technique question
When you inject, do you pull back on the needle to see if blood is drawn up? I've seen some advice to do this, but some instructions I've seen skips this step.

Caput Medusae
Hey folks, I was wondering at what stage of liver disease do caput medusae start showing? A few months ago I started have right quadrant pain and the appearance of spider veins/broken capillaries on my ribs. I got my liver functions tests and a myriad of other blood work and it was all fine. My ultrasound

Feeling confused
Hi everyone, I am new to the site and would be grateful for any feedback 🙂 I have been under a gastroenterologist for the last year and after various scans I was diagnosed with a non alcoholic fatty liver in February of this year. I was told I needed to lose weight and exercise. In April I had a fibroscan

Don’t Jump the Gun - Liver
Hi I joined here last week having developed what I believed to be liver pain. Having been diagnosed with a slightly fatty liver last year the pains I recently started to get had me very worried. Heart and Lung issues
About 9years ago I was diagnosed with LBB, Total Heart block and
dilated
Cardiomyopathy
. This resulted in having a Pacemaker fitted. My pulse had gone down to 25bpm pretty low. The op went well but I now I also have AF. Apart from that my life ticked alongfairly normally.

Lucentis Experience?
Hello! I'm new here and would appreciate any and all insight. I was recently diagnosed with myopic choroidal neovascularization. I have two young kids, and my job largely depends on my ability to read and write so I am pretty depressed at the diagnosis. I received a shot of Lucentis yesterday, but

Exercise
I’m now nearly 4 months into my diagnosis of
Dilated
Cardiomyopathy
and feel I should start some exercise as my meds seem to be making it difficult to lose weight, I’ve gained 8lb since diagnosis, I have a fairly active job where I walk about 4 miles a day (you’d think that would be enough!)

Hepatic encephalopathy
Has anyone tired L-ornithine-L-aspartate along with rifaximin and lactulose to help with relief of toxins? I just started per Dr orders I can’t tell any difference as of yet (one week @ twice a day) I am hoping it helps. 🤠DLD

AREDS2
I have been treated for wet macular degeneration in my right eye for approx 4years initially with Lucentis injections every month & for the last 12months Eylea injections every 12 weeks. I realise there is no cure for this but am seeking advise for taking an ARED2 formula to help prevent the same damage
