Cirrhosis LFTs came back as normal but still worried
I spoke with my consultant today as I'd not had my blood results from last month. He told me my Liver function tests showed now as normal but said I'm probably still border line decompensated as LFTs don't matter. I asked him about hypertension as I have normal portal vein flow and normal flow through

Anyone with idiopathic CNV out there?
Hello, I have just been diagnosed with idiopathic choroidal neovascularization in my left eye at age 43. I have high myopia (-9), but the doctor isn't sure what caused the CNV (hence idiopathic diagnosis.) We caught it extremely fast, as I was already booked into see a specialist for a cataract in my

Can drinking 10 liters of water a day reverse cirrhosis?
If water is flushing out toxins, a toxin-free state can give the liver time to repair itself. I could not find any studies belonging to cirrhosis. Only those who drank a lot of water showed less fatty liver disease. Do you know a scientist who has tried this?

Once a month and really, once a month
Hello I have been diagnosed with Fibrosis Stage 3 but they are treaing me as though I have early Cirrohsis. I've been told to abstain alcohol forever. Now if I truly have the willpower to treat myself on one day a month to a few drinks and it is only one day a month, would it really do any harm ? I guess

Biliary Atresia
My daughter had a Kasai procedure a little over a month ago. We noticed today her stool went from bright yellow to pale cream. No temperature, normal appetite and very active. GGT levels fluctuate from 252 to 180 to 352. Could GGT be a factor? Anybody else have experienced a similar case? Did you require

I have early signs of
dilated
cardiomyopathy
. I’m on day 3 of taking it. It says on the label to take it in the morning, but it’s making me feel very light headed and groggy around lunchtime. I work with special needs youngsters, so I need to be alert. Can I take it at night instead? Carol

From what I've been told by medical professions, they either make my liver disease seem very serious or no big deal. Anyone else?
My GP incorrectly diagnosed me with cirrhosis. I went to see a liver specialist who told me I had non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, not cirrhosis. I'm angry that I was incorrectly diagnosed, but I'm glad it's not the former. I have lots of mixed feelings. I know I need to lose weight (currently over

Association Between Anxiety and Depression and Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
As some of you know, I often like to share information about liver disease. I have found that the more I learn and understand, the easier it is to accept and deal with certain situations if I happen to understand what is causing them. For example, if a person was suffering from depression, knowing the

cirrhosis and edema / ascites
My partner diagnosed 22.12.21 with alcoholic cirrhosis stopped drinking on that date. Since then has been having 3 weekly drains and wasn't able to have diuretics due to low sodium. Was hospitalised last Friday due to extreme edema in feet, legs and scrotum. Has been on IV diuretics as sodium now OK
