2nd biopsy, just started on prednisolone. Dietary help pls.
So my doctor had just started me on 25mg of prednisolone indefinitely due to the inflammation (in my kidneys?) as a result of my igA nephropathy acting more aggressively on my body. I am taking effort to abide by a low protein diet at 0.8g/protein/kg body weight per day. Aside from feeling very hungry

Liothyronine over or under.
Is it possible that too much liothyronine may stall weight loss please. I have been on liothyronine only 60mcg daily for at least ten years it was 80 before that. I suffered two mini strokes in July and was given a blood thinner told to stay active and lose weight and despite strict low carb walking

LCHF/Keto junk food
Hi all. How's everyone doing? Not normally one for any processed food at all, I have been uncharacteristically buying some keto "junk food" recently. This (ridiculously expensive!!) loaf of keto bread, made mainly of almonds and eggs, is actually really good, and very low carb at 3.5g per 100g.

My wife of 40 years and APS
I strongly believe in doing everything to avoid inflammation generally. Stop all processed foods, no seed oils and restrict or complete avoid grains (wheat, rice, corn etc) and go on a low carbohydrate diet. We all need to have a healthy glycocalyx which is the slimy lining of our blood vessels. look

Gluten-free diet and vitamin D uptake in patients with Hashimoto disease
This paper demonstrates that gluten-free diets with Hashimoto's may have an influence on vitamin D uptake. Just a thing to be aware of. Gluten-free diet attenuates the impact of exogenous vitamin D on thyroid autoimmunity in young women with autoimmune thyroiditis: a pilot study October 2022

Change to Thyroid Tests after 40 years of the same dose of Throxine
I am having a battle with my GP. Diagnosed with underactive thyroid when I was 26 and I am now 70 and for past 40 years have been on 150 thyroxine which worked perfectly for me. In April 21 I got diagnosed with PMR and put on 15 mg of steroids. I eat a low carb diet, take Vit D and have done a slow transition

Oh dear!
After gastroscopy I have been sticking to a dairy and gluten free diet, managed to get down to 3.5mg Prednisolone and was doing really well but with increasing pain , I'm back up to 5mg. Do I contact GP they seem to have forgotten me? Or persevere on my own!
