Glucose tolerance Test
Hi everyone, I have a glucose tolerance test this month. The midwife informed me that I have to put 17 glucose tablet's in a cup and drink. Was just a bit worried if it would be too much of sugar and would it harm the baby. Would be comforting to know about your experiences. Thank you all

Blood Results Back!
Hi, I have my blood results back. A little confused..... I was checked for diabetes, thyroid, RA and evidently for Gout! Results show, that my thyroid medication will remain the same, even though I am top of my range. I am still in remission for Pre Diabetes, gone from 47 back down to 44. Test for RA

Fasting Low Blood Sugar increases Cardio-vascular Related Death even in Non-diabetes- Study reveals
It is a well known fact that Low blood sugar is dangerous for Diabetes .....if the blood sugar falls below 80 mg/dl.....it would harm in many ways... mainly CV risk and at times a person can collapse .... Fasting blood sugar more than 126 mg/ dl is also not desirable though not as dangerous as low blood

Blood sugar testing and 14/10 fasting
What is the best time of day to test blood sugars? And does 14/10 intermittent fasting work for diabetics? Does this affect blood sugars for example?

Anyone trying Low carb high fat?
Hello all! I’m not sure I’m really doing the right thing? I’m avoiding carbs.. bread, potatoes, rice, pasta. Replacing with salad, roast veg, spiralizing courgettes.. I’ve even tried the cauliflower rice trick... but seem to be eating lots of meat and fatty stuff. Home made scotch eggs etc. Not hungry

Vitamin C could help older adults retain muscle mass – new research.
As we get older, our skeletal muscle mass, strength and power to move gradually decline, which may lead to a condition called sarcopenia. Sarcopenia affects more than 50 million people over the age of 50 years worldwide, and contributes to type 2 diabetes, frailty, physical disability, loss of independence

Little things that help
Good evening, ive been struggling with cooking and diet generally for a few years. Rarely able to gain any traction to cook, often forgetting to eat and fasting for a few days sometimes. I guess living alone doesn't help much either! Last week I bought an Airfryer from eBay and it's brilliant, so versatile

First runiversary.
I haven’t posted on this forum for awhile but I have been lurking. It was one year today that I began my journey into C25k with 30 second runs space by 90 second walks. At the end of my first session I did not believe that I would be able to complete the programme. I began reading the inspiring posts

Should you drink coffee if you take Ramipril?
Ramipril increases potassium levels and coffee is high in potassium. On the face of it I should avoid drinking it. But coffee is also a diuretic, so is any higher increase in potassium cancelled out by being urinated out?

Diabetes testing.
What do you mean by : my blood glucose test was 51 ? Mine is 7.2 and my GP is perfectly happy with that. Anything around 7 is okay by him. Just wondering what country you're living in. It might be the reason for such a huge discrepancy. Chris G

Gynaecomastia (man boobs)
Do any of you men have this condition? I've read that liver disease can cause this (imbalance of testosterone and oestrogen) but it can also be a side effect of Spironolactone diuretic medication. I have cirrhosis and also take Spironolactone for pitting oedema in my lower legs and feet (the medication
