Head pins and needles
Hi all, I hope you're all hanging on in there. I am newly diagnose and wanted to ask if anyone has pins and needles, especially in the head. I am having these weird sensations all over my body, difficulty walking with balance issues, plus vision problems too. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank

Is it safe for me to use atorvastatin, a statin medication, to lower my cholesterol levels while also taking levothyroxine?

Was diagnosed with ARVD in August 2008 after checking myself into hospital after fainting. After the condition was finally diagnosed I was given an ICD as insurance against a potential arrhythmogenic issue. In 2017 insurance policy paid out when I had a VT storm where ICD fired 60 times in 45 minutes

Pycnogenol® supplementation alleviates symptoms of Parkinson's disease with mild cognitive impairment
Recent article 2022. Not sure if it was posted. I was going to take it to lower my BP which has started to creep up. I worried because I had read [i]Their pharmacodynamic action primarily consists of antioxidant properties and possible anti-inflammatory effects. Pycnogenol may also influence the release

Auto injector advice please
I SI B12, but my daughter is needle phobic so I have to do her injections regularly for her. She would like to try an auto injector... Where do I begin? Any advice welcome as to where to purchase and tips on how to use (especially if you are needle phobic). How did you find it? Did it help? is it painless

Tumor Lysis Syndrome: What ( CLL ) Patients Need to Know (Leukemia and Lymphoma Society podcast)
Many of us are aware of the risk of tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) when we commence treatment, particularly with venetoclax and that the purpose of the venetoclax ramp-up, is to reduce the risk of TLS occurring. TLS can also occur with other CLL treatments, especially when they are fast acting, rapidly killing

LCHF / IF for August?
Hi all The title means Low Carbohydrate High Fat / Intermittent fasting. Both are ways of eating that can help people loose weight without the need to count calories or eat less and without the need to go hungry. Both ways of eating can also help to ease several health conditions. IF and LCHF work

Alpha Lipoic Acid and its benefits

Update on 2 am dose
Nice idea while it lasted. The upside, which is grand, is waking up with no signs of PMR. The downside for me, though of course maybe not for you, is sleep loss, which has caused me to abandon it. Always been a night owl but since PMR I have been running on a 12-14 hour day, broadly waking around

Caffeine and progression of Parkinson’s disease: A deleterious interaction with Creatine
So I was thinking of adding Creatine to my stack based on a VERY positive video I watched from a "doctor" who it turns out graduated from an unimpressive medical school within the last 10 years and has already surrendered his license. So then I thought I should research his claims about Creatine and

Levothyroxine and eating
Hi, Can you help me please? I'm trying to improve my levels and one measure is trying to tighten up when I take my Levo around food/drinks. I must admit I've been pretty slack with this over time. I began first of all a few years ago by getting up early and taking an hour before food and drinks. That

Bruises, Ankles Swelling, ETC.
Never a dull moment. Diagnosed with PMR since Jan '22 and now at 32 mg. Pred after that GCA scare in Jan. 2 3. I am 73, but the bruising has just begun. Nasty ones and I don't remember bumping the areas where they are (like the joint of my big toe at the side), so it doesn't take much. Presuming thinning

Reducing Nifedipine dose for the warmer months?
I am on 20mg x 2 daily Nifedipine for secondary Raynauds, I started in the Autumn last year. I know I need to consult my Rheumatologist about this but wondered if others do the same ? Now the weather is warming up, I'm finding it's very easy to go into overheat mode, in that my hands start to swell

Plant Sterols for reduction of cholesterol
Not necessarily related to PMR as I have had high cholesterol since I first started having blood tests years ago. My 'good' and 'bad' have always been about the same level. My current GP suggested statins. I declined. She then suggested trying plant sterols. I've ordered a couple pf packs from

newbie uc proctitis
I officially was dx’d with uc proctitis in fall of 2022 after serious bleeding for 8 days and explosive bms. Went into remission for a few wonderful months n as my gastro weaned me back off mesalmine suppositories, my proctitis flared again. Does anyone here have it, and what do u do for rectal pain.
