Walking
Dear Members, I have often read and come through suggestions that diabetics must take morning walks. Everyone who has diabetes start walking in the morning. However my understanding is that diabetics who do not follow LCHF diet must first decide how many kilometers they need to walk. Of the total

I need a direction to the rest of my life journey …
I am not sure if I know which way to go: should I continue the rest of my journey without Chemo or go back to the forth line: Advance stage (4) OC and tumor nodules all over the abdomen and one year of different type of chemo without any positive response. Currently the general goal of therapy is palliation

Adrenal Exhaustion
Have been very poorly since beginning September when a stressy experience sent me over the edge. My GP sent me for a cortisol test after I insisted and it came back borderline. I am waiting to see an Endo but my appointment is on the 14th January. In the meantime I have an appointment to see an alternative

Adrenal Insufficiency
5 months ago I wrote a post regarding a recommendation by my Endocrinologist to change from Prednisone to hydrocortisone in order to 'wake up' my adrenals. I was reluctant to change because I have GCA and lost the sight of my right eye and also having read the replies to my pos, advising me against

Will I be put on meds for discoid lupus?
Hi everyone. Can anyone tell me what will happen now that I have been diagnosed with discoid lupus? I have a lot of mild symptoms of SLE but my ANA test was negative. I was given Elocon cream and told to return to dermy in 6-8 weeks. I wasn't given anything for my other symptoms though. Feeling confused

Fruits and LCHF
One thing which puzzles me about LCHF and DietDoctor.com. LCHF is supposed to be what our hunter-gatherer ancestors ate. They must have had a strenuous time hunting and gathering, climbing trees and running from wild animals. He was not an agriculturist. However, what prevented him from gathering fruits

In previous posts I have kept you informed about my GP's and what they did, in one post I told a little of my life story and the history behind my illnesses. My last post was to tell you all about the mistakes m GP's made for 10 months. I have since the last post being trying to fight the system and

I am switching from prednisolone to hydrocortisone to help with tapering, I am currently on 12mg. Has anybody else tried this and how did you get on?

got saliva results ( cortisol )
The results are what I thought, guess I'm here as part of my pity party for myself. They looked practically flat-line. My 8am was 5, normal is 13-24. At 8am should be the highest for the day. You're doing well if you're near the top, at 24. For the day, my "cortisol load" was 14, normal is 22 to 46.

High Cancer Treatment Costs Force Patients to Compromise on Care
A recent national survey in the United States, found that the financial burden of cancer treatment leads many patients to make potentially harmful medical care and lifestyle tradeoffs in order to pay for treatment. The survey was presented ahead of the Palliative Care in Oncology Symposium in Boston

Can anyone help ?
My daughter is now one year on from having a pituitary tumour removed. The problem is she has been left high and dry in the endocrine aftercare department. Her thyroid isn't functioning properly and after six months of insisting we get T3 T4 checked, they found that the surgery had affected her thyrotrophin

feedback loop issue
My doctor just quit at the clinic, so again, I'm in between Doctors and trying to get a game plan in mind. My worry has been if my adrenal glands and thyroid are not able to function right because a few years ago, I was on T3-only, 15 mcg every 12 hours and Hydrocortisone, 20mg spread over the day. I

Hospice Care Week
Hospices are places where everyone would prefer not to go to (yet), but that does not mean that they are dismal places. Far from it. They are experts in pain relief. St John's Hospice in St John's Wood (where I went yesterday, but not as a prospective patient) has been looking after some patients
