From one extreme to another my surgery
I developed oral thrush yesterday. I submitted my repeat prescription ( thrush meds not on repeat) and put a request in with a note saying. I have oral thrush and need Nystatin. Have had this many times it is not a controlled drug and can be bought over the counter. This is not an emergency but can not

If the benefits of AZ vaccine highly outweigh the risks, why is the position of GP's not to administer it with sedatives ASAP to my son?
Baring in mind My son does not currently need any
dental
treatment
that requires sedation, nor any other such treatment, it appear we have to just sit and wait until he does, which could be months if not years.

Synarel and Utovlan together? - your experiences please!
Hi there, Does anyone have any experiences taking Synarel and Utovlan together. I've been on Synarel a month(along with Livial) but am still having periods. My wedding is in 3 weeks so my consultant has advised I can take Utovlan a week before to stop the bleeding on the day. I'm just a tad worried

Fluconazole
Hi all, I have well managed Hashis and I'm on 50mcg Levo. I have recurrent thrush so I've just been offered by gyno a 6 month suppression therapy with fluconazole. I wonder if any of you has had any experience with this medication? I'm very afraid it will disrupt this fine balance I've found with my

Association between dietary onion intake and subclinical hypothyroidism in adults: a population-based study from an iodine-replete area
What a very odd paper - which really doesn't get anywhere in terms of explanation. Nonetheless, it does raise my curiosity as to what might be happening and why. Pickled? Scallion? Raw? Cooked? Red, white or brown? [i]Endocrine. 2021 Jul 31. doi: 10.1007/s12020-021-02790-2. Online ahead of print.

Oral Thrush
I'm on Mycophenolate Mofetil 2g daily, steroids, warfarin and lots of other meds. Just recently had 3 bouts of oral thrush. Nystatin clears it up but it keeps coming back. Does anyone have a similar experience and what did you do about it? (I can't take the pills for it as they interact with too many

I’ve been having B12 injections every 2 weeks I’m now on my fourth, I’ve found a real improvement in most of my symptoms but still have burning feet and a really sore tongue and mouth, will this eventually improve?

Kidney issues post liver transplant
Hi I'm 1 year post liver transplant, but my kidneys seem to be taking a hit. My GFR is reducing at each blood test. It is now 39 and drops by about 5 every time. They've not said if it's now CKD but I'm worried as the internet says 39 is stage 3B. They have reduced my tacrolimus to 1mg twice daily,

Do medium-chain triglycerides downregulate mTOR?
I ran across some info about MCTs turning off mTOR and amping up AMPK (possibly resulting in an increase in autophagy and also lipolysis). Does anyone have any info on whether or not MCTs are potentially beneficial for prostate cancer?

Colonoscopy and moviprep
I am due to a colonoscopy this week to investigate chronic diarrhoea , no blood. Thoughts are post infectious ibs currently I see the recommendations to chill moviprep but cannot make it with cold water. How soon before taking it are you allowed to make up the solution? I want to give it a chance

Experience with Tacrolimus with or without Azathioprine
Hi all! My drs are suggesting to put me on tacrolimus alongside AZA to help with my joint pain. Has anyone been on tacrolimus? With or without AZA or another immunosuppressant? How is your experience? Anyone have any knowledge/experience of long-term tacrolimus? Also, I got told by the nurse

Has anyone used cordyceps as an adjunctive treatment for kidney disease?
Cordyceps worm mold is widely used in China to treat kidney disease, and some scientific studies indicate that it may reduce creatinine values in patients with chronic kidney disease. I have never found found much personal benefit from it. Conclusions of recent Chinese study: "Current evidence shows

Antibiotics triggering your RLS???
Although doctors terror of handing out diazepam is off the scale (I have some unused tablets from
dental
treatment
which I'm using). I'm also curious - diazepam is, I believe, a muscle relaxant.
