Egg Retrieval- Round 3 FAILED

This is my 3rd attempt at egg freezing and this too last failed.

1st - I ovulated early and they had to cancel cycle

2nd - I used gonalf450 and cetrotide. 5 eggs retrieve. All immature.

(Skipped a period) went on Yasmin birth control. Twice a day for 11 days. (Instead of 21 days)

3rd- I used gonalf450 and duphaston (Replaced cetrotide ). Got 6 eggs retrieved. All immature.

This has been so frustrating. I have no clue what is being done wrong or is it my age (38) and low amh have an effect?

I dont know if I would continue to Rouns 4 as I actually don't know the issue. And apparently the Dr doesn't either. He was so sure I would get mature eggs with my 3rd protocol..and was shocked to know it didn't work. His only advise was we may have to double or triple your trigger shot dose. Or wait for the follicles to be larger. I had a few that were above 20mm.

Anyone experience immature eggs? Is there hope?

I currently don't have a partner and done even know if I can conceive naturally. I'm healthy, I get period regularly.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dana

Hi, I have not been in this exact situation however I don't know if my situation may be of help to you. My first cycle i went to egg collection with 3/ 4 follicles. Was devastated on waking up to learn that no eggs were collected. And I was so nervous about going ahead to a further egg collection. We gave ourselves 3 months off and then tried again. The changes made for us were:

1. Change in drugs from Gonal F to Menopur

2. Change in trigger timing (increasing the timing)

3. Pushing follicles to 22-24 mm which is much larger than average.

I have used this protocol twice now and it rendered 6 eggs both times. Note I also have low AMH.

Hope this helps even if in some small way xx

Awe thanks so much! Definitely helpful to hear success stories. In your case, was there no eggs or were they immature? I will also be taking a break as I had 3 rounds in 2.5 months.

Pushing the follicles to 22-24 is what's interesting.. my dr said I may be someone who needs to push them to that size in order to work. So that's good to know.

Thanks so much for sharing.💕

Hi, in my case there was no eggs when they went to collect them. So although it was thought I would get 2 or 3 eggs, they weren't able to retrieve any. For the next cycles they pushed the follicles to make them bigger before triggering and I think my trigger was 38 hours instead of the standard 36 hours. X
