Advice on medical care
My wife qualified for CHC last December. Just recently there has been a shake up with the district nurses, different teams, new team leaders etc. For the first four months she was visited by the district nurses on a weekly basis, they then reduced the visits to once every two weeks although it was agreed

Medicinal cannabis
I’ve been told by my GP that he can no longer prescribe Fentanyl lozenges for my breakthrough pain. I’ve always known they are palliative care drugs. They worked for me. Now I’m stressed about how I’ll cope when my last two are gone. Has anyone else had medicinal cannabis prescribed? If so did it work

Thank you to everyone in our little online Asthma Village <3
I find that asthma has defined the way I do everything and I wonder that we all have very similar, but also very different experiences of this journey. Different lives all bound together by one uniting force. I have had many trials and tribulations with doctors and nurses and hospitals and always tried

Sense of taste
Just wondered if reduced sense of taste is common with people living with PA. I was diagnosed nearly 2 years ago and my sense of taste varies throughout the year. At the moment I can’t taste anything unless it is very strong. I will start to monitor it to see if there is a pattern.

My journey to recovery
This is a very long piece about my experience. It has a good ending. This goes back a few years I was feeling tired and extremely fatigued and had done so for some 6 months. Simple tasks like loading a tumble dryer meant I had to go to bed. I went to my GP and saw a locum. She ordered a full range

Undergoing a frenuloplasty...Any advice?
I'm a 30 something male having a penile frenuloplasty (frenectomy) in mid August to correct an issue of frenulum breve. I opted for this instead of a circumcision as my urologist seemed to think it would take care of my problem. I'm looking for advice from those who have undergone the procedure on

Reaction to botox and muscle relaxers
Hi all. I was wondering if anybody in our community has had reactions to either Botox or muscle relaxers. I used to be able to take both of them For pelvic pain in the past. About a month ago I had a Botox injection into the sphincter since it seemed to be the center of my anal pain . I had this exact

You are a blessing to me!
As my symptoms change/increase (I have PSP-cerebellar ataxia with dementia, or so I’ve been told by a neurologist and a neuro/psych specialist) I have started to check into this site more and more for information. It has helped me stay ahead of the “game” as no one in my family talks to me about this

Anyone had THD or HALO on piles?
I had a colonoscopy and THD and Banding of piles done on Monday. The surgeon described my piles as "pretty chunky" when I spoke to him Tuesday morning. Was in a lot of pain Monday evening, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday was better but it felt as if the stitches were pulling when I moved. Friday the

Does anyone take "Magnesium Citrate Calm" for severe and chronic IBS-C..has it helped?
Had to go yet again to ER for an enema for impaction/constipation. Doctor's office could not get me in, and they would have sent me to ER anyway. Have had "C" since childhood, but it became worse (my Digestive system shut down) after coming off cold turkey off prescribed Opiods. I was on the lowest dose

Intal/Tilade - Medication for exercise induced asthma
I have been doing some research whilst trying to rest up after the weekend, and it seems there are some medications around which target exercise induced asthma. Generally my asthma is reasonably well controlled, but exercise remains an issue for me. For example this weekend, I used ventolin before I

Treatment going ahead for antibody mediated rejection!!
So lady’s and gents, some may remember my post a few weeks ago about being treated with a form of dialysis for antibody mediated rejection, the docs decided to send me home and watch how I go with my tacrolimus levels being high, this has caused a bit of damage to my kidneys and my bloods are much worse
