Lost my mom to MSA
Hello everyone A month ago I lost my mom (55) to MSA. She had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2014 and was later diagnosed with MSA. Well, at least that's what they think. We still aren't 100 % sure. It has been a rough couple of years, watching her getting worse and worse. It started with

Loss of Sense of Taste
My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2012 and has recently lost his sense of Taste. He says about 80%. He has started on B1, we are up to 2500mg and increasing. I’m hoping this will help. Anyone else had this problem?

Aortic Valve Replacement - The Call Up
I knew the surgeon wanted to operate this month and so I shouldn’t have been surprised when I found a text from my husband saying my surgeons PA had phoned to say there was a slot for my surgery next Tuesday and although he’d accepted on my behalf - he’s good like that 😉 - I still had to call back

Sidewhacked by Richter’s transformation twice: epilogue
About 5 short weeks ago I posted about my hubby being sidewhacked by RT for the 2nd time. His treatment using R-GDP was deemed best and he received 1 cycle. He had several bouts of confusion subsequently with a bleed in the brain as the likely culprit due to his low platelets. Alas, a head CT scan revealed

Thrush?
Hi I have a reoccurring itchiness, not sure if it is thrush. It is like there is a small cut in the red area aswell. It happens roughly once a month and is really irritating, very itchy and also sore when peeing

Arginine Deprivation Therapy for PC
12 days ago, there was an interesting thread about Nitric-Oxide-Donating NSAIDs, which touched on Arginine. Apparently, some members take arginine supplements. I want to share what I’ve read online about arginine, and why I now avoid it. But first, full disclosure – I rarely post. I have no scientific

Oral cancer
Hey I am having sore for last 15 days. I took tablets from the second day from which I found this sore. But the sore retains. It is quite painful too. I saw a dentist last week. He told me that there is a chance for oral cancer. I find it very difficult to chew and swallow food. My friend told me that

In Hospice as of now.
My second attempt at setting up palliative/hospice care happened yesterday with a visit from the intake nurse from the new agency. She told me when she was still doing field work she had three cases of PSP. She actually knew something about the disease. I felt like this was the place we should be. Someone

Little update
I’ve been having some jaw and tooth pain lately so I begrudgingly brought myself to the dentist. My least favorite place to be. I hadn’t been to a dentist in years but for once that’s actually my choice. I hated my old dentist and vowed never to go to the dentist again after my parents told me they thought

Dad is losing his battle.
I’m so scared. Dad is getting palliative care at home. Every day he is deteriorating. New challenges. He’s breathless, low Hb, low platelets, fluids in his pleural cavity, lymph nodes are swollen, oedema, he coughs all the time. I’m besides myself with anxiety. I can’t bear to see him like that. This

Mouth Ulcers/Cold Sores
Does anybody get mouth ulcers (cold sores) with their B12D? I was low on b12 (159) for many years and got cold sores frequently. I've been supplementing for 3.5 months heavily now and just got some new ones in my lip area and cheek. The PAS website says they are common but havent seen them mentioned

Has anyone ever got rid of oral thrush?
I’ve had oral thrush for 8 weeks now. My GP prescribed a course of Nystatin which didn’t make any difference. I then bought a couple of tubes of Daktarin, still no better. My dentist recommended using Corsodyl mouthwash twice daily (which I’m still using every day). I eat a probiotic yoghurt each day

Tonsillitis, wedding and anxiety
It is my wedding day on Saturday (now tomorrow) and yesterday I was diagnosed with tonsillitis I have antibiotics but I have been so distressed about the timing that .y anxiety is really high. I took 20mg of propanolol to help calm me down but now I was worrying it will clash with my antibiotics.
