hello I had a heart attack on the 10th July I am disabled in a wheelchair,

I have the following arthritis in both knees, both knees need replacing, peripheral neuropathy, Both My feet have been badly deformed by neuropathic charcot,

I also have copd, type 2 Diabeteas.

I am looking for a book on getting fit after a heart attack.

But cant seem to find any books that caters for fitness and disability.

I wondered if you could suggest any further reading thanks.

Mike..so sad for your news but so encouraged you have the good attitude of wanting to try and not give up. I am in wheelchair..CMT ..multiple problems..crippled legs and feet..i know of no books but I have the suggestion to look online for wheelchair exercise on you tube. They have seated tai chi classes..arm movements, core strengthening etc. i have done successfully. Also in US public tv a program called SIT AND BE FIT on daily. Half hour moving with music led by Dr. Maryanne Wilson. I do daily in my wheelchair and it makes huge difference. You can buy dvds of hers. Not know if is on you tube. I will try and see if i can actually find some links to send you. I COUNT on these visual classes..it may help you..keep at it..i admire your strength and hopeful attitudes..😚Holly

I suggest that you Google the American Movement is Medicine online series of free exercise videos for CMT folk.

Personally, doing some exercise every day, makes me feel much better. Best wishes in improving your health.
