I’ve just been diagnosed with Fibro after all sorts of widespread pain, operations, PTSD and now menopause to add to the mix. I’ve recently started to research and practise fascia release firstly through a Pilates teacher and supplemented by guidance and videos on the web. I’m finding it’s really helping and am not taking as much pain relief. I can’t do the amount or intensity of the exercise I used to so this along with swimming, and regular acupuncture is giving me some hope and relief. I’ve also started talks with my employer about slowing down any maybe looking at part time hours and less responsibility, which is quite a big step after working full time for 36 years and having children . These two changes in lifestyle have made me feel much better mentally and physically, I really can’t recommend fascia release enough and all you need is a foam roller and tennis ball! 🙂

Fascia Release
I have used the Franklin balls for neck/shoulder tension relieve and find them helpful indeed. Thank you for the reminder to use them again.
Hello SMW. I’ve just started to research fascia release. Looks interesting - I can’t take all the strong medication so have to try gentler alternatives.
I bought a hand-held roller on a stick. It’s called Sportneer and was about £17 from Amazon. It’s much easier to use than a foam roller and I do believe it’s helping a bit.
Best wishes xxx
Hello thereThankyou for the post.
I've read an interesting book 'The Fibro Manual' written buy a doctor who has Fibro and she concentrates on this for her treatment (in USA) but it may interest you if you havent already.
It's by Ginevra Liptan MD
Have a good day X
Unfortunately, foam roller and tennis ball hurt me too much. But connective tissue massage I tried twice was OK, despite the pain, and expert acupressure hurts but not too much, and helps me most of all... Thanks also for the reminder. Thanks to LisaSnow for the Franklin balls and MsJ1 for connecting it to Liptan's Manual.
