Little blue pills and linctus
The helpful palliative care consultant at Harefield has prescribed for me Oxycodone tablets and codeine linctus. These are to try and manage the worst of my symptoms, coughing and breathlessness. So far they are helping. Though I'm having to go to bed early I've been very busy. Last week I had yoga

Big, big trouble Houston
I’m 60 now but a guy so I’m still prone to daft things like buying Microsoft Flight Simulator. I flew a 747 the other day and blimey did it let me know when I tried a questionable manoeuvre. Red lights, Commercial Airliner Crash Warning sirens etc. Well it’s sort of a metaphor for me currently. Some

throat pain discomfort
is it possible having high antibodies to cause throat pain made worse by eating. Saw ENT who thought it might be thyroiditis causing my throat symptoms?

Monocytosis?
Hey folks, I searched but saw no other posts on this. Yesterday had my 6 month check up, new doc, didn't review tests with me but summarized. This morning I saw online that my monocytes have gone sky high (2.0 versus .4 etc.) registering as high on the test as well (in fact, they spike to the same

doxy for chlamydia
I recently tested positive for chlamydia :( I’ve been trying to crush Doxy and have it with meals or beverage like coffee. Since I have a fear for swallowing tablets or capsules. The first dosage didn’t work. I’m trying again, this time emptying the capsules in meals. I’m still experiencing pelvic pain

Antibiotic cover for dental treatment
Hi. I’m at high risk of endocarditis as I’ve had it before and have a mechanical valve. I’ve got a couple of dental appointments coming up and the dentist refuses to prescribe antibiotic cover, citing NICE guidelines. M gp is reluctant to prescribe too on the basis of the same guidelines. I don’t have

Canesten solution
Hello everyone. My ear has been sore & itchy for a month - following trying NHS hearing aids. GP prescribed Canesten - which I've used before. The pharmacy say it's out of stock. GP offered me Otomize - which I'd rather not use. I 've tried to buy Canesten from chemist direct but there's no sign of it

Those women where it spread to their liver??
I have mentally hit rock bottom. I have a question though. I see many women post that they have mets to their liver. What I think and what I am trying to understand is that I seen a photo of a breast cancer tumor and a 5 cm tumor is the size of a lemon. I have three tumors, one is 5.1, one is 7.1

Help! Going mad with anal itching & pain
I went to the GP last week after 4 weeks of anal itching and pain. Tried all OTC creams but nothing worked, ordered Proctosedyl ointment online (I got this 13 years ago after having a fissure post labour) but it was out of stock so got scheriproct instead which didn’t do much. GP gave me Diltiazem ointment

C.T. Scan's
I know this is slightly off topic. I have just been invited to a CT lung Scan, I was a social smoker in the 80's and smoked a little bit on and off, but nothing major and still enjoy the odd cigarette with a glass of wine (once in a blue moon). My mother had lung cancer in her early 50's, (she

Thiamine......a missing piece in the puzzle?
Hi all As we know thiamine is very much a hotly debated topic in many of the communities (not just Parkinson's) and one of (if not THE) the main reasons is to do with dosing and the various B1 derivatives. Rectal Pain
I have daily very painful rectal pain which keeps me from ordinary functioning. I have a history of internal and external hemmorrhoids and my doctors feel because I am 87 years old I should not consider a hemmorrhoidectomy. I am hoping that there is someone who can relate to my condition and can offer
