Iron supplementation - ferric EDTA
I’ve started researching which form of Iron is best to take but would appreciate anyone who is able to forward any studies they’ve come across. Anything I’ve started to read has allowed no further access to information. Wanting to try the Better You Iron 10 spray (contains ferric EDTA) as tablets

B12, Folate & Iron
My B12 was 375 (211-911) & folate 8.6 (5.4-20.0). Been having symptoms so am trying to raise these levels. Taking B12 1000ug sublingual & a B complex. Apparently whilst raising B12 levels due to the increasing production of red blood cells your iron/ferritin levels can drop? If we need to take iron supplements

Any DBS prep advice?
Hi! My dad is rigidity dominant. He experiences freezing when his meds are wearing off. He didn't qualify for FUS at Sonimodul, but my dad finally has his 2nd meeting with a surgeon, Dr. Munhoz, at Toronto Western Hospital here in Toronto. We have watched Dr. Mischely's PD School on DBS, and have come

Back again with another question about spouse's DBS results
Hey folks, was on here back in Nov. - Dec. concerning my husband's DBS results. I am happy to report after much trial and error, he no longer has any noticeable Tremors!!! However, I do think it has affected his Personality, he just doesn't seem the same. I cannot say it is entirely due to the DBS,

Low haemoglobin and iron tablets
I’m not sure where to post this. I had an operation where I suffered a bleed resulting in low haemoglobin. I had 2 blood transfusions and iron infusion. I was then given iron tablets. But my haemoglobin is back to normal now. All my iron results are high and my folate in low normal. Awaiting more blood

Iron lab values, how to interprete?
Hi everyone, Checking my iron is not part of the regular treatment I receive from the internist for my hypothyroidism. Many years ago a former internist checked my ferritin once per few years and it always seemed at the bottom of the range. He never mentioned it as problematic. I have now asked my GP

How much iron supplement to take?
In my latest attempt to get RLS under control I am attempting to take iron supplements (despite blood tests being normal, see attached). I've read perhaps iron levels can appear normal but are actual low in the brain. Right now I take over-the-counter 65 mg iron supplement every day on an empty stomach

weird test results
my first test came back positive for gastric parietal cell antibodies using the Elisa test. Second test tests 5 years later for parietal cell antibody titers, comes back negative. Ok is this something that comes and goes?

So the doc did some bloods....
Hi all. You may or may not recall I had some bloods carried out privately. The doctor wasn’t keen on them so order these. Luckily my endo accepted blue horizons tests and upped my levo to 100mg anyway. That was two weeks ago however I have waited on adding any vits etc until I got these back. Haven’

Soy Isoflavones and Levothyroxine
I've recently started taking soy isoflavones to counteract some post- menopausal symptoms. There seems to be conflicting reports re the effects , some say take the supplements hours after the Levo, some say don't take it as it interferes with the absorption of thyroxine. I've started to feel a bit better

Doctor won't prescribe Iron
So long story short, in the past I have been frequently low in Iron. Was therefore prescribed Ferrous Fumarate about 2 years ago and since then I have used SpaTone, as well as eating more red meat. For that reason I stopped requesting FF (as I prefer something gentler on stomach). Also supplemented

Blood Test Results - some changes
I was tested positive for PA and the GP asked for a full blood test to check iron levels. From what I can see the haemoglobin estimation and MCV are in normal ranges which should mean that I don't have iron deficiency, but I do have B12. As usual, the MCH and MCHC are elevated. There is also an increased

Medtronic DBS battery change: opportunity for improved therapy?
Coming in 2021 for me is a Medtronic DBS battery change: what are the opportunities for improved hardware and software? How about comments on rechargeable vs non-rechargeable battery? If possible please share links to any source material.
