Fred the iron molecules tale : The end
This will only make sense if you’ve read my previous post https://healthunlocked.com/rlsuk/posts/146515820/fred-the-iron-molecule-and-rls-a-story. There was a question in this post and I promised the writer of the best answer a chocolate muffin. It’s my opinion that the best information was provided

Fred the iron molecule, and RLS : A story.
A story with no ending. If you don't like stories skip to "THE END" I have an ex-colleague who used to teach physiology using guided imagery. I attended one of her lectures once on the oxygenation of blood. All the students had to close their eyes and sit, (or lie down) comfortably. Then she began

Low iron but normal ferritin levels. Iron tablets?
Hi. My symptoms of RLS have become noticeably worse in the last 9 months. I had my levels tested in March this year and my ferritin was 35 and my iron was 6.7. I was given an iron infusion which raised my ferritin to 172 and my iron to 8.1, which is still low (11 to 18 is normal). I noticed my RLS symptoms

Questions about Topamax
Hi, Everyone. Haven't been on here in a while. My doc wants me to take topamax. This is to reduce migraines but I've read it also might help RLS. Does anyone here know if it causes augmentation (since it's a dopamine agonist)? Any other info you can offer would be helpful, too. Side effects? She's

High B12 without injections - Symptoms of deficiency
TL;DR: Has anyone had levels of B12 above the standard reference range (while never having had any B12 injections) before getting diagnosed with PA? From Low to Extremely high Ferritin - inflammation?
After months of my ferritin level at 7 (about 10 months) last year in August I had another blood test and it leaped up to 534. My dr said that it was artificially high because he saw some inflammatory marker, (I can’t say which one it was). A year later, blood test found it is 391. I had no iron supplementation

Levothyroxine sodium oral solution to control thyroid function in a patient with hypothyroidism and celiac disease
How can it take over twelve years to get to an adequate dose? Yes, I recognise that Tirosint Sol was not available in 2007, but the failure even to consider gluten for so long is unforgivable. (Tirosint Sol seems limited to the USA at present. Certainly not heard of anyone in the UK getting it.) [

Possible coeliac?
I’ve just had some blood results back due to iron deficiency. I also had my first booster jab after loading dose for low B12. Iron is just back in range but results say that serum tissue triglutaminase is high and consistent with coeliac disease. Got an appointment with doctor next week but wondering

Investigating the Influence of Excipients on the Stability of Levothyroxine Sodium Pentahydrate
There has been a tiny rivulet of papers questioning the formulation of levothyroxine products. Time and again, the papers identify problems with excipients of which a large proportion of real products contain at least one. I'm sure it is not the entire picture. But this rivulet has been flowing for

Vitamin B12 deficiency - Recently diagnosed
Hi there. I was previously in the Thyroid UK group but one member suggested me this forum because of my low Vitamin B12. I am a 33-year-old woman. I weigh 60 kilos (22,7 BMI), non-smoker, non-drinker. I have a pretty healthy lifestyle. My symptoms started almost 3 years ago. I have mistaken symptoms

Ferrous Sulfate gives me headaches
Hi, sorry if I've posted this in the wrong section as I dont have Thyroid problems. I've recently had a low iron deficiency confirmed and have been told to buy supplements and take them 3x a day. The chemist recommended Ferrous Sulfate 200mg. I have found that after taking just one I get an awful headache
