Ambulance called, please help explain blood test results

Hi,

I'm hypothyroid (self-prescribe additional T3 with help of this forum) and have been taking thyroid meds for around 25 years. Currently I take I take 125mcg T4 and 18.75mcg T3 in the morning, and 18.75mcg T3 in the evening.

I also have ME, Fibromyalgia, Guillain-Barré and have had Long COVID since March 2020 (coming up to 15 months).

I had a funny turn on Thursday where I was slipping in and out of consciousness and had to call the paramedics. My vital stats were fine. This also happened 3 years ago pre-COVID, then I spent a night in hospital but they couldn't find anything wrong with me, so this time I decided to stay at home.

I've been super-breathless since I contracted COVID, and my heart has been hurting since then (COVID gave me inflammation of the heart). I haven't taken any anti-inflammatories since May 2020.

I'm coeliac and haven't eaten gluten in 25yrs. I'm not vegetarian, and have been eating lots of iron-rich foods. I haven't regularly been losing tons of blood as I haven't had my period in months, due to being on The Pill back-to-back to treat the perimenopause. However, I think from my results below my iron levels are low?

Can anyone please tell me what it all means? I want to make sure my unsympathetic GP doesn't blame the T3 for any of the results below. I don't believe it's causing the breathlessness or heart pain, as these symptoms began with COVID last year, and I've been taking T3 for about 4 years now. But she's always eager to blame everything on my self-medicating T3!

I took all the usual precautions before my blood test and didn't take any supplements for more than the week leading up to my test.

EDIT: I don't take any steroids, and haven't done for years.

Many thanks in advance for your input :-D

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

As a coeliac you will very likely need ongoing continuous su

No vitamin D result

Do you supplement magnesium and vitamin K2 as well as vitamin D

Yes B12 and folate low

Are you currently taking any B vitamins ?

supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid) may be beneficial.

This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Igennus Super B is good quality and cheap vitamin B complex. Contains folate. Full dose is two tablets per day. Many/most people may only need one tablet per day. Certainly only start on one per day (or even half tablet per day for first couple of weeks)

Or Thorne Basic B is another option that contain folate, but is large capsule

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

With serum B12 result below 500, (Or active B12 below 70) recommended to be taking a B12 supplement as well as a B Complex (to balance all the B vitamins) initially for first 2-4 months, then once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.
